Tanguturi Prakasham Panthulu Jayanthi Declared as State Function: Tanguturi Prakasham Pantulu was an Indian Politician and Freedom fighter, CM of the Madras Presidency and subsequently became the first CM of the New Andhra State. He was also known as Andhra Kesari It means literally theLion of Andhra. The Andhra Pradesh Government has issued G.O.No.2834 on 10th August 2014 declaring his Birth Anniversary (Jayanthi) as State Festival.

ORDER:
The Birthday Celebration of Andhra Kesari Late Sri Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu falling on 23.08.2014 is hereby declared as “STATE FUNCTION”
- Accordingly, all the Departments of Secretariat and the District Collectors are hereby directed to observe the Birth Anniversary of Andhra Kesari on 23.08.2014 on a very large scale across the State.
3.The expenditure shall be incurred by the various Departments of State Government from the budget provision of their respective Departments.
