Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh has released the AP NMMS Exam date 2023 or AP NMMS Scholarship Exam Date 2023 on its official website, https://bse.ap.gov.in/ for the conduct of State Level that means Stage 1 National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme Exam across the State.
8th Class students of Andhra Pradesh who have registered for the AP NMMS Examination can check details and download the Exam Date web note from the official web portal.
The ‘National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme’ scholarships are awarded to meritorious students of economically weaker sections to stop their dropout at class 8 and encourage them to continue education at the secondary stage.
One lakh fresh scholarships are awarded to selected students from class 9 every year and their continuation or renewal in classes 10 to 12 for students studying in State Government, Government-aided and local body schools.
We have known that, the amount of the scholarship is Rs. 12,000 per annum. MMSS scholarships are disbursed directly into the bank accounts of selected students by electronic transfer through Public Financial Management System (PFMS) following the DBT mode. This is a 100 per cent centrally sponsored scheme.
Candidates whose parental income from all sources is not more than Rs. 3,50,000 per annum are eligible to avail of the scholarships.
The students should have a minimum of 55 per cent marks or equivalent grades in the Class 8 examination for appearing in the selection test for the award of a scholarship (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST students).
As per the web note, Board of Secondary Education AP would conduct the the AP NMMS Scholarship examination on the blow said date across State. Pattern of Examination is as follows: Mental Ability Test (MAT) 90 marks multiple choice questions.
Scholastic Ability Test.(S.A.T) – 90 marks covering sciences, mathematics and social sciences of class VII & VIII. Each question carries one mark. Time is one minute for one question.
Qualifying percentage is as follows: The minimum qualifying marks for each paper will be 40% and in case of SC/ST students this cut off will be 32%. Selection will be made as per the merit subject to district wise and community wise quota allotted as per norms issued by MHRD New Delhi.

Students who have registered for the NMMS Andhra Pradesh Scholarship Examination can check details and download the exam date web note PDF from the web portal for appearing the examination.
- Candidates can visit the official website of BSE Andhra Pradesh, https://bse.ap.gov.in/ in your device browser.
- Once you reach the official website, click on the ‘NMMS’ Button which is displayed at left side bottom under ‘NTSE & NMMS’ Section of the web page (rounded in red color).
- After clicking on the NMMS link, it will be redirected new web page.
- Now, click on the NMMS Exam Date PDF link and it will be opened to a new web page.

Each State/UT conducts its own test for selection of students for the award of the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship.
The State Level Examination consists of the following two tests. (i) Mental Ability Test (MAT) (ii) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
The Scheme objective is to award scholarships to meritorious students of economically weaker sections to arrest their drop out at class VIII and encourage them to continue the study at secondary stage.
One lakh scholarships @ Rs.12000/- per annum (Rs.1000/- per month) are awarded to selected students of class IX every year and their continuation/renewal in classes X to XII for study in State Government, Government-aided and Local body schools under the scheme.
There is quota of scholarships for different States/UTs. Students of NVS, KVS, Sainik schools and private schools are not entitled for the scholarships.
Scholarships are disbursed on quality basis by the State Bank of India directly by electronic transfer into the accounts of students through Public Financial Management System (PFMS).

There is reservation as per State Government norms. The selection of students for award of scholarships under the scheme is made through an examination conducted by the State Governments.
The students shall have minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in Class VII examination for appearing in selection test for award of scholarship (Relaxable by 5% for SC/ST).
At the time of selection for the award of scholarship the candidate must have scored at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in Class VIII examination. There will be 5 % relaxation for SC/ST.
