Students, who desire to appear for NTA Graduate Aptitude Test- Biotechnology (GAT-B) 2023 exam or Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) 2023, can get more information on the official websites, dbt.nta.ac.in or nta.ac.in.
NTA GAT B 2023 registration process has been started. Interested and eligible candidates may apply on the above said NTA websites. The last date to submit the online application is July 31 2023. Candidates must note that multiple application forms submitted by a candidate will not be accepted under any circumstances. The registration for this entrance examination can only be done online.
The GAT-B or BET is a national-level entrance examination for admission to the Department of Biotechnology supported Post Graduate programme in Biotechnology and allied areas in participating Institutions (GAT-B) and to award the DBT – Junior Research Fellowship (DBT-JRF) for pursuing research in frontier areas of Biotechnology (BET).
Application Fee: Candidates belonging to the General (UR)/ OBC-(NCL)/ EWS category as per Central List must pay Rs. 1200 for the GAT-B examination, and Rs. 1200 for the BET examination. To apply for both examinations, candidates must pay Rs. 2400. SC/ST/PwD candidates must pay Rs. 600 for the GAT-B examination, and Rs. 600 for the BET examination. To apply for both examinations, candidates must pay Rs. 1200. Candidates may pay the examination fee online through credit card/ debit card/ net banking/ Paytm, by 11:50 pm on July 31 2023.

The GAT-B and BET 2023 examinations will be conducted on August 14 2023, with each exam being conducted for a duration of 3 hours. The GAT-B examination will be conducted in the morning from 9 am to 12 pm. The BET 2023 examination will be conducted in the afternoon from 3 pm to 6 pm. The examinations will be conducted in English, in Computer-Based mode.
The duration of NTA GAT B examination 2023 would be 3 hours or 180 minutes. - On the homepage of the website, you will see a hyperlink related to either of the two exams. Make sure that you select the correct exam choice

- Download and take a print of the successfully submitted page for your own reference

- Why is the GAT-B conducted?
Graduate Aptitude Test-Biotechnology (GAT-B) is an All India Entrance Examination to test the eligibility of bonafide Indian nationals for admissions to DBT supported Post Graduate programmes in Biotechnology and allied areas, at participating institutions/universities in India. DBT supported Post Graduate programmes include: M.Sc. Biotechnology and allied areas; M.Tech. Biotechnology and allied areas; M.Sc. Agricultural Biotechnology and M.V. Sc. Animal Biotechnology.
- Why is the BET conducted?
Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) is the national qualifying examination for award of doctoral research fellowships under the DBT-Junior Research Fellowship (DBT-JRF) Programme. BET is an All-India computer-based examination which is held once every year. These fellowships are tenable at any recognized university/institution in India where the selected fellow registers for Ph.D. programme.
