GO.3 New School Timings for Primary, UP Schools, High Schools in Telangana Sate as per RTI Act 2009

Telangana State government has released a government order for implementation of school timings as Right to Education Act, 2009. In this regarding As per GO.Ms.No.3, dated: 27-08-2014, Government has accorded permission to the Commissioner and Director of School Education, Telangana for  implementation of revised school timings and subject wise allotment of periods in all the schools under the management of Government, Municipal, Local bodies, Welfare Departments, Private Aided and Recognised as a part of implementation of RTE Act, 2009

Primary Schools:
School hours: 9.00 AM to 4.00 PM (7 hours)
Lunch break: 12.10 PM to 1.10 PM ( One hour)
Total Periods: 8
First period: 45 minutes
Remaining each periods: 40 minutes

UP Schools:
School hours: 9.00 AM to 4.15 PM (7 hours and 30 minutes)
Total Periods: 8
Lunch break: 12.30 PM to 01.20 PM
Only 1st period duration: 45 minutes
Rest of  the periods duration: 40 minutes
short interval:10 minutes

High Schools
School hours: 9.00 AM to 4.30 PM (7 1/2 hours)
Total Periods: 8
Lunch break: 12.50 PM to 1.40 PM
The 1st period duration: 45 minutes

ORDER:
The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 enacted by the Parliament to provide for Free and Compulsory Education to all children of the age of 6 to 14 years vide reference 1st read above.   Accordingly, the Andhra Pradesh Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules 2010 have been issued vide reference 2nd read above.  The rules specify the number of working hours and days of schools have to function.

2. In the reference 3rd read above, the Commissioner & Director of School Education, Telangana, Hyderabad has furnished the following revised school timings and working hours, applicable to all schools under all managements in the State following State curriculum.  He has requested the Government to issue orders for implementation of revised school timings and working hours as a part of implementation of RTE Act, 2009 in the State.

3. After careful examination of the matter, Government hereby accord permission to the Commissioner & Director of School Education, Telangana for  implementation of above revised school timings and subject wise allotment of periods in all the schools under the management of Government, Municipal, Local bodies, Welfare Departments, Private Aided and Recognised as a part of implementation of RTE Act, 2009

4. The Commissioner & Director of School Education, Telangana and the Director, State Council for Educational Research and Training, Hyderabad shall take further necessary action accordingly.
