Innovative English Lessons at ZPHS Penugonda, Shankarabhaktula Satyam, an English teacher at the Zilla Parishad High School at Penugonda in Kesamudram mandal has become a teachers par excellence in the subject through his innovative methods of teaching over the last three years.

He uses not only the boards in the classrooms, but also the tables and walls to teach the fundamentals of English grammar and other aspects of the subject to the students.

Fired by a sort of missionary zeal in his work, this teacher extraordinaire calls his classes ‘English Labs’. He constantly dins into his students that to learn any language, they should develop the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.

With his methods of teaching, he has helped the Penugonda school students overcome difficulties / errors in English. His ‘Language Labs’ are giving excellent results. Impressed by his success, the Department of Education is planning to implement his methodology in ten other government schools.

Satyam told Express here on Saturday that he was trying similar innovative methods to teach English to the government primary school students. He added that his intention was that government school students should acquire a command of the English language comparable  to that of the private school students
