JoSAA Seat Allotment Result 2023 for JEE Advanced Admissions or IIT Admission. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2022 has declared the result for the first round of counselling for candidates who cleared the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Advanced. Those who had registered for admission to engineering colleges across India including IITs, NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and other government-funded technical institutes can check their results at josaa.nic.in.
Those who made it to the first round of counselling will have a go through a few more steps which include – freeze or float the allotted seat, paying the admission fee to reserve the seat, reporting to the allotted college, and verify their documents. Candidates who wish to accept the seat allotted to them are required to report online and upload necessary documents along with paying fees. The last day for the payment of fees is October 30.
The second allotment for JoSAA counselling will be released by November 1. A total of six counselling sessions will be held. The entire counseling process will conclude by November 20. Candidates are allowed to exit from the seat allocation process starting from the second round up to the fifth round of seat allocation. Candidates can also float their allotted seats up to round 6 as that will be the final round for admissions.

Joint Seat Allocation Authority, JoSAA 2023 counselling is going on for candidates aspiring to get admissions in IITs and NITs. The Round 2 Seat Allotment result will be releasing on November 1. The Authority has confirmed the date and time and the result would be out at 5 pm. Candidates will be able to check it on the official website, josaa.nic.in.
Admissions to the premier Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) with the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) releasing the first seat allotment list. The total intake capacity across 23 IITs this year has gone up by almost 2,500 seats. From 13,583 last year, the intake capacity stands at 16,053 this year. In 2018, the intake capacity across IITs stood at 11,279. JoSAA has stated that there will be only six rounds of seat allotment conducted in 2021 as opposed to seven rounds conducted in the past three years According to JoSAA.
Another major change in admissions process this year is that students will not be expected to physically report to their allotted institutes to confirm admissions. This year students will confirm their admissions by submitting all necessary documents online itself.
JoSAA conducts admissions to IITs, as well as National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other Government Funded Technology Institutes (GFTIs). In a press statement released earlier this month, IIT -Delhi confirmed that of the 1.5 lakh students who have appeared for the JEE Adv exam this year, 43,204 qualified.
This included 18,028 in the general/open category, 9,349 in the other backward class-non creamy layer (OBC-NCL) category, 5,140 in general economically weaker section (GEN-EWS) category, 7,869 and 2,818 in scheduled caste (SC) and scheduled tribe (ST) categories respectively. Of the total students who qualified the exam, 36,497 are male candidates and 6,707 are female candidates.

Joint Seat Allocation Authority, JoSAA, which is conducting the seat allotment process to undergraduate programmes at IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs this year, has released the JoSAA first round seat allotment result, as scheduled. JoSAA round 1 seat allotment result has been announced and is now available to be checked by the candidates on the official website josaa.nic.in.

- Click on the tab saying “Round 1: View Allotment Result and Pay Seat Acceptance Fee” being highlighted with a blip saying new.

About JoSAA: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has been set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to 110 institutes for this academic year. JoSAA is the JEE Advanced counselling conducting body for admission to seats available in IITs, NITs, IIEST, IIITs and Other-GFTIs.
This includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs and 29 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). Admission to all the academic programs offered by these Institutes will be made through a single platform.
