As you may know, the Dearness Allowance (DA) is a cost of living adjustment allowance paid to government employees and pensioners in India to mitigate the impact of inflation on their income. Recently, the government of Telangana has announced an increase in the DA for its employees, effective from January 1, 2023.
This increase in DA will benefit over 4.5 lakh state government employees and 1.5 lakh pensioners in Telangana. The DA has been increased by 5%, taking the total DA to 17%. This means that the state government employees will now receive an additional Rs. 1,250 per month and pensioners will receive an additional Rs. 833 per month.
This increase in DA will not only provide financial relief to the employees and pensioners but also boost the economy by increasing their purchasing power.
The government has also announced that the arrears for the increase in DA will be credited to the employees’ accounts in the next month’s salary.
We hope that this increase in DA will bring some relief to the employees and pensioners in these challenging times. We understand that the cost of living has been increasing and this increase in DA will help to mitigate the impact of inflation on your income.
We encourage all employees and pensioners to check their salary slips for the increase in DA and to contact their respective department if they have any queries. Thank you for your service to the government and the people of Telangana.
