The Telangana State Government has given permission to School Education Department to the appointment of Vidya Volunteers in government schools in the state. 6,781 Vidya Volunteers will be appointed for the 2020-2021 academic years. Rs.12,000/- will be rewarded with honor.
1308 Vidya Volunteers will be recruited for Telugu teaching. Education Department has issued orders regarding the appointment of Vidya Volunteers.

Salary: Services to be engaged from June itself. Rs.12,000 per month is the honorarium for volunteers
Engaging of Vidya Volunteers with a Honorarium of Rs.12,000, per month: As per the proceedings, the Govt accorded permission to accorded permission to engage 16781 Vidya Volunteers, which includes 15,473 Vidya Volunteers against the Sanctioned, Vacant Posts due to Retirement, Long Leave Vacancies etc., and 1,308 Vidya Volunteers in all the Local / Gov’t PS, UPS & HSs in other than Telugu and English Medium Schools to implement Telugu for the Academic Year.
The honorarium to the Vidya Volunteers is Rs.12,000/- (Rupees Twelve Thousand only) per month per head.
As per the guidelines, the candidates shall apply online and submit a signed print out of the application he/she uploaded along with the certificates required to the MEOs, in the application format created in the Director of School Education website. The Mandal Educational officer shall do verification of the applications with reference to the Certificates enclosed and submit the same to the District Educational Officer duly countersigned.
The District Educational Officer shall finalize the selection as per the Guidelines and with the approval of the District Level Committee under the Chairmanship of the District Collector communicate list of Vidya Volunteers to the Mandal Educational Officers.
The Mandal Educational Officers shall complete the verification process as per the Guidelines and furnish fist of Vidya Volunteers.
The SMCs shall enter into the agreement with the Vidya Volunteers as per the Guidelines and engage the services of Vidya Volunteers. The Vidya Volunteers shall be engaged till last working by of the Academic Year or up to the time newly Recruited Regular Teachers join duty which ever is earlier. They arc purely temporary and can be terminated at any time based on justifiable grounds by the School Management Committee (SMC).
The Vidya Volunteers shall be engaged to ensure regular functioning of the schools. Candidates should have completed 18 years of age and upper age limit is 44 years as on 1st July, (5) years relaxation is given in case of SC / ST / QCs and (10) years for Physical Challenged persons.
Unit of roster is the District. As per the sanctioned number of VVs, the DEO shall allot roster points first to the Mandal by arranging the Mandals in English alphabetical order. Later, in the Mandal he will arrange habitations in English alphabetical Order to follow the Govt guidelines.
Therefore, they are requested to strictly adhere the guidelines and complete the process of engaging VVs as per the schedule and submit compliance report without fail.
TS VVs Recruitment Proceedings
16,781 Vidya Volunteers will be appointed: To ensure quality education in government schools while overcoming the shortage of teachers, the Directorate of School Education will appoint in 16,781 Vidya Volunteers.
VVs will be Engaged for TS Schools: Of the total, 15,473 volunteers will be engaged in regular, vacant and leave vacancies whereas 1,308 volunteers will be for teaching Telugu in all local/government primary schools and upper primary schools in ‘other than’ Telugu and English Medium schools.
These volunteers will be engaged from June itself so that students in the government do not miss out in the academics. However, their services will be used till newly recruited regular teachers join the duty. Last year too, about 11,428 Vidya Volunteers were involved for teaching students in government schools across the State.
Eligibility: To be eligible for Vidya Volunteer post, the candidates should have completed 18 years of age while the upper age limit is 44 years. Mandal is the unit for engaging of Vidya Volunteers basing on the roster points allotted the mandal. Natives of the village will be given first preference and candidates from adjacent villages in the same Mandal will be given second preference.
Merit List: As per guidelines, the District Educational Officer concerned should make a merit list of the candidates out of the total applied and get it approved by the District level committee headed by the District Collector.
