Course name: B.Sc. (Forestry) Degree programme
Course duration: 4 years
Seats: Intake of students: 50
The eligibility criteria for admission into B.Sc. (Forestry) 4 year course shall be:
i. Candidates should have passed Intermediate / (10+2) final examination or any examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Board of Intermediate Education, with Biology (Botany+Zoology), Physics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.
ii. The candidate should obtain at least 45% of marks (40% in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) in the subjects specified taken together at 10+2/Intermediate or equivalent.
iii. The candidates for admission to the course shall be required to have completed 17 years of age on as on 31st December of the year of admission with an upper age limit of 22 years for all the candidates and 25 years in respect of SC and ST candidates and 27 years for physically challenged students.
The mode of admissions:
The selection of candidates for all the seats shall be made on the basis of total of the marks obtained by the candidates in biology (botany + zoology), physics and chemistry in the Intermediate Examination (10+2) conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana State or any other Examination recognized as equivalent thereto. The candidates will be selected based on merit.
The normalization procedure will be followed in arriving at merit. The normalization procedure shall be adopted as followed in EAMCET.
In case of a tie in marks obtained by two or more candidates the aggregate marks secured in Intermediate Examination (10+2) conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana State or any other Examination recognized as equivalent thereto shall be taken into consideration. For further tie in marks the age of the candidate shall be taken into consideration to resolve the tie.
Reservation of Seats:
As per the statutory provisions followed in State of Telangana
I. 85% of the seats are reserved for local candidates and 15% of seats are un-reserved.
II. Backward Classes: 29% of seats are reserved under this category.
(BC-A – 7%; BC-B – 10%; BC-C – 1%; BC-D – 7%; BC-E – 4%)
– Scheduled Caste (SC): 15%
– Scheduled Tribe (ST): 6%
III. Reservation of seats for Women: In the course, 33 1/3% of the seats shall be reserved in favour of women candidates from each category.
IV. Other Reservations:
a) Defence Personnel (CAP) 2%
b) National Cadet Corps. (NCC) 1%
c) Games & Sports ½% (0.5%)
d) Physically Challenged 3% (1% for Visually Handicapped; 1% for Hearing Impaired 1% for Orthopedically Handicapped)
Prescribing of application fee for admission: An amount of Rs. 1000/- for general and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST candidates will be collected towards application fee.
Hostel facility: Compulsorily residential Program.
Dress code: Dress code: Light blue shirt and Dark Blue trouser for boys and Light blue kameez and Dark Blue salwar & dupatta for girls.
