Telangana Teacher Eligibility Test 2021, Apply Online for TS TET at ‘tstet.cgg.gov.in’. TS TET is a Teacher Eligibility Test would be conducted very soon in Telangana State.
But here is the dilemma that to conduct TET or TERT (Teacher Eligibility cum Recruitment Test) Already from 2011 TET is well known for us. But many people’s opinion is that already these candidates get through the entrance test of a required course, final exams for 2 years,
And now is it necessary of this test? So, in 2013 they appointed a committee to study on this, according to that committee recommendations govt accepted to conduct TET + DSC combined as TERT but later govt did not respond on this.
Latest Update: 5.5 lakh candidates are waiting for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) in the state. They are worried about whether they will be eligible for the TET if the teacher posts are filled. They are demanding that the TET be held before the recruitment of teacher posts.
The TET, which is to be held twice a year, has been held six times so far, in unified state. In fact, the TET, which was supposed to be held 12 times, was held only 6 times and 5.5 lakh people are still waiting for the TET. TET has not been held in the state since July 23, 2017. Concern among the candidates started when the CM gave the green signal for the recruitment of the latest teacher posts.
As per NCTE regulations
In 2011, the National Council of Teacher Education issued directives requiring students to qualify for the ‘TET‘ in order to write the ‘Elementary School Teacher Examination‘. The Right to Education Act made TET mandatory. NCTE clarified that the TET validity would be seven years.
As part of this, Candidates who are qualify in TET Paper-1 can teach from 1st to 5th class and Candidates who are qualify in TET Paper-2 can teach from 6th to 8th class only if they qualify.
20% weightage would be given in teacher recruitment test (TRT) for the score achieved by the candidates in TET, the state government has taken steps to give 80 per cent weightage to the teacher recruitment test.
3 TETs Validity Completed:
As per NCTE regulations, On July 1, 2011, the government held its first TET in joint Andhra Pradesh. Then the second TET was held on January 8, 2012,
the third TET was held on June 1, 2012. The seven-year validity of these 3 TETs has now expired.
More than 15 lakh Candidates from Telangana and AP appeared for the Paper-1 and Paper-2 examinations of the respective TETs, out of which 7,41,097 qualified. There are about 4 lakh candidates from Telangana. They all lost their TET validity due to the seven-year rule.
Since then (in 2014, 2016, 2017) 3,69,308 Candidates have qualified for the other three TETs. The fourth TET was held on March 16, 2014, had 70,000 students from AP. Apart from them, 3 lakh Telangana candidates qualified for the respective TETs.
However, those who disqualified in the first three TETs were nearly 2 lakh, while another lakh did not qualify. In addition to the one lakh candidates who did not qualify in the fourth TET, there were more than 3 lakh students who did not qualify in the various TETs.
In addition to them, there are another lakh and a half who have completed teacher education courses (B.Ed, D.Ed) in the next three academic years (2018, 2019, 2020) conducted on July 23, 2017. A total of 5.5 lakh candidates are now waiting for TET in the state.
TET Validity is Lifetime:
The NCTE Governing Council recently decided to perpetuate the TET validity which is currently only seven years. Made it clear that NCET would make it a lifetime validity. However, no official order has been issued in this regard.
It said the final decision would be taken after taking legal advice in the case of those who have already qualified in TET. However, no decision has been taken on that.
However, another 1 lakh people who qualified in the first three TETs but did not qualify in the subsequent TETs got TET hurdle. NCTE’s decision to make TET validity lifetime, that would benefit one lakh people if it applies to those who have qualified for TET in the past. Otherwise they will have to re-write TET.

TSTET and TS DSC separately: The Telangana State government has decided to conduct the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) and District Selection Committee (DSC) separately. A decision was taken during a meeting with officials of the School Education Department at the Secretariat here in December.
The government would conduct TET and DSC separately. The norms prepared by the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) would not allow conducting a common examination for the recruitment of teachers. According to Govt Officials,
The TET was only taken as eligibility criteria for DSC and DSC was a screening test for teacher recruitment and conducting a common examination was against norms of NCTE and may lead to legal tangles hampering the recruitment process of the teachers.
Further, the government has decided to give eligibility for the students who are in the final year of DEd or BEd courses for appearing for the TET. The Minister said 20 percent weightage would be given TET for calculating the final score in the DSC examination.
