Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) is a national science talent search programme for New India organised by VIBHA (Vijnana Bharati), in collaboration with NCERT- Ministry of Human Resources and Development and Vigyan Prasar- an autonomous organization under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
VVM is a National program for educating and popularizing science among school students of VI to XI standards. VVM aims to identify and nurture the bright minds among the student community, who are keen on subjects related to science.

It gives us great pleasure to inform you that ‘World’s largest Science Talent Contest’ is jointly being conducted by NCERT, Vigan Prasar, CBSE and Vibha for the students of class VI to XI in November. Vignana Bharati, Telangana Unit has taken the responsibility to coordinate this program in Telangana & Andhra Pradesh.

The Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan program involves the following:
1. The Level-1 (Junior Group) talent search will be for students of Class VI – VIII and Level- 2 (Senior Group) talent search will be for students of Class IX – XI.
2. The participation fee is Rs. 100/- for students from public and private schools. This fee includes registration and for receiving subject material from Vignana Bharati.
3. The syllabus for the examination will be from the science and Mathematics text books of respective State Boards/ NCERT (40 marks). In addition, the exam also covers Indian Contribution to Science (20 marks), Life of Dr. Homi Bhaba & Dr. Vikram Sarabhai (20 marks) and Logic/Reasoning/General Knowledge (20 marks). Study material will be provided by us for the syllabus on Indian Contribution to Science and Life of Dr. Homi Bhaba & Dr. Vikram Sarabhai.
4. The duration of the exam will be for 2 hours (11:00 am -1:00 pm). The mode of the exam will be online using Mobile phone/Tablet/Laptop.
5. Local Vignana Bharati will be conducting orientation programs for the school teachers to propagate this program.
7. The successful candidates will be awarded at School level, District level, State level, Zone level & National level. The National level awards will be given by the President of India.

OBJECTIVES OF VIDYARTHI VIGYAN MANTHAN (VVM):
- To conduct an annual talent search exam at the national level to identify students who have a scientific bent of mind.
- To provide the winning students with mentors to enrich science learning experience to carry forward their science education at higher levels.
- To organise exposure visits for the winners to various R&D institutions in the country.
- To identify successful students at the State and National levels and felicitate them with prizes and certificates.
- To create interest among students in science.
- To educate school children about India’s contributions to the world of science and technology, both traditional to modern.
- To provide hands-on training to students through workshops and other events.
STRUCTURE OF VIDYARTHI VIGYAN MANTHAN:
Students participating in VVM shall undergo the following multi-level testing procedures:
1. Objective type question answering
2. Comprehensive writing
3. Presentation and Group discussion
4. Roleplay & Practical examination
5. Methods of Science The program also includes organizing visits to reputed National Science Laboratories and Centres. To enable deserving students to have interaction with renowned scientists of the Nation. The VVM will identify National Science Talents of the year. Appearing student will be evaluated and compared with respect to the students from his/her own class at all the stages i.e. School, State and National level.
SCHOOL-LEVEL EXAMINATIONS (JUNIOR AND SENIOR):
Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan is a unique online examination to be conducted at national level. The registered students will take the exam using his/her own device namely a laptop/ tablet / smart phone (mobile with any OS) AND HIS/HER OWN INTERNET CONNECTIVITY. The school level examination will be conducted nationwide, on same day and at same time.
The examination will be conducted for the Junior Group (class VI to VIII) and for the Senior Group (class IX to XI). Evaluation of student will be based on their individual performance at every level. The examination will be conducted in English, Hindi, Malyalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bangali and Punjabi.

REGISTRATION::-SCHOOL REGISTRATION: Worlds largest Science Talent Contest
A fully web-based application will be available for the registration of the schools. The school authority needs to appoint an exam coordinator and he/she will… Enter the details of the school like school name, school address, GEO Mapping of school, UDIES code of the school, name of the principal, name of exam coordinator, mobile number, email ID, etc.
This information will be shown as a school profile on the VVM portal. The entered data will be verified by VVM admin through sending a one-time password (OTP) and an Email verification link on registered mobile and Email respectively. UDIES code will be used as a school identification number.
STUDENT REGISTRATION: Worlds largest Science Talent Contest
The exam coordinator can now register students who wish to take up the VVM online exam. Minimum student info 1) Name of student 2) AADHAR number 3) Class 4) Email 5) Phone Number Schools can register students one by one online or can download editable excel format (available on the portal for offline data entry) to upload. This information will be shown as a student profile on the VVM portal.
In case of offline completion of the entries the data can be uploaded online. Exam coordinator is authorized for modification of student’s information (if required). After successful submission & payment an OTP and email will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID of each registered student. The student should click the verification link and complete the verification process by entering the OTP.
After successful verification, the student will be automatically redirected to the student profile page. The student must specify the details of the device to under take the exam. In the student profile page, the details of the student like profile photo needs to be uploaded (mandatory) by the student using APP. On confirmation of device details and completing the profile information the student registration process is complete.
Students can modify the details of the device up to 72 Hrs prior to the exam. The roll number for the student will be generated by 15 November 2020 From the school login, the details of all the students registered from that school will be displayed. The authority of modification in the student’s name, student’s mobile number, etc. will only be with the school coordinator.
SCHOOL REQUIREMENT TO CONDUCT ONLINE EXAMINATION: To conduct the examination School should provide classrooms and invigilators. 20% of total registered amount collected from the school will be kept by them and the balance 80% should be transferred to VVM Delhi office through RTGS/NEFT.
APPLICATION DOWNLOAD AND INSTALLATION:
Once the registration process is complete the Exam App will be made available for download from the profile page of the student. The App will be downloaded only on the registered device (laptop/tablet/mobile). Depending on the type of the registered device (Android/iOS/laptop) the corresponding application will be downloaded to the client device from vvm.org.in. The profile page will contain detailed instructions for App download and installation. The request support link will be available in case of any issues along with helpline numbers.
NOTIFICATIONS AND MOCK TEST: Worlds largest Science Talent Contest
To build the confidence of the students and to make exam user friendly, sample mock test will be made available regularly. The registered students will get regular notifications regarding the activities. The student profile will be displayed in the top section of the App. The profile will contain student details with photos for identification. On completion of the mock test, the student can view the results of the mock test on his profile page. After verification of the answers, the student can report to our admin support if he/she faces any problems.
FINAL EXAMINATION: Worlds largest Science Talent Contest
16 November 2020 onwards, the student will receive an SMS and Email notification to download the latest App. This download must be done on during16-23 November 2020. After 23 November 2020, the app will not be available for download.
Once downloaded, the student should click on the verification link, to make sure that the latest version of the App is downloaded and is running on the registered device. ‘The student will not be able to appear for the exam without the latest updated APP installed in the registered device.’ Registration will be available only through Online Registration which can be done through the website www.vvm.org.in.

STATE LEVEL CAMP (SLC): Worlds largest Science Talent Contest
Top 20 rankers per class per state will be identified to participate in the one or two days State Level Camp (SLC). Winners will have to attend the State Camp with their own travel expenses. The camp will be organised anywhere within the state. The venue and other details will be informed to all selected students.
State Level Camp will consist of Application Orientated Multiple Choice Questions, Hands-On Activities, Observation and Analysis, Situational Problem Solving Ability and a series of other activities. States will be clubbed according to a number of students who appeared for the examination with the consideration of their geographical and cultural resemblance and convenience for the students.
NATIONAL CAMP (NC): From each State Camp, top two students from each class i.e. total 12 students per state, will be invited to a two-day National Camp. National Camp (NC) will comprise Presentations, Scientific Understanding, Innovation and Creativity, Out of Box Activities, & Assessment of Leadership Quality.
VIJNANA BHARATI (VIBHA): VIBHA (VIJNANA BHARATI) is a national movement for the propagation and popularization of Science & Technology among students and masses. VIBHA promotes scientific contributions made by India in ancient times as well as now. Now we are the largest scientific organization having the longest chain of state units and networking institutions across the country.
VIGYAN PRASAR: Vigyan Prasar (VP) is a national institute for science and technology communication established in 1989 under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. It promotes and propagates a scientific and rational outlook in society, nurtures interest in science, encourages creativity and develops capacity for informed decision making.
NCERT: National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is an organization set up by the Government of India in the year 1961 to assist and advise the central and state governments on academic matters related to school education.
