AP Teacher Eligibility Test for Recruitment as a teacher for classes I to VIII in the Schools of the State Government, Mandal Parishad, Zilla Parishad, Municipality, Private Aided Schools and Private unaided schools in Andhra Pradesh state.

APTET Eligibility Criteria
The candidates at the time of applying for APTET 2025 should be in possession of the minimum qualifications prescribed for a teacher for I to V classes (Paper-I) and VI to VIII classes (Paper-II) as given in Information Bulletin.

How to Apply APTET 2025?

According to the directives of the National Council of Teacher Education, those who have completed DED before 2010 will be allowed to appear for the examination with 45% marks in Inter. 50% marks are mandatory for those years after 2010.
Those who got admissions in BED before July 29, 2011 do not need any qualifying marks in the degree. DED, BED final year students are eligible for TET.
If SC, ST, BC and Divyangs have passed DED before 2010, they should have 40% marks in Inter and 45% marks thereafter.
All questions are in multiple choice format. There will be 150 marks for 150 questions. No negative marks. Paper-1 has 30 marks in Mathematics, 30 marks in Environmental Education, 30 marks in Language-1, 30 marks in English and 30 marks for Student Progress-Pedagogy. The test time is two and a half hours.
They are eligible for both TET papers as BED has qualified them for SGT posts. There will be 60 marks for the respective subjects in the School-Assistants examination.
They do not have an environmental education subject. The English language test is for all candidates. Questions are asked at the inter level.

Applicants are required to pay an application fee of Rs 750/- to complete their registration for the AP TET 2025 examination.

AP Tet validity is lifetime: AP TET Certificate / Marks Memo shall be valid for life time from the date of TET examination in accordance with NCTE Guidelines.
APTET Score Weightage
Weightage for APTET Scores in selection in District Selection Committee (DSC) Recruitments: 20% weightage will be given to APTET scores in the ensuing Teacher Recruitment of the State Government.
In other words, 20% weightage is for APTET score and 80% weightage for written test in Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) for drawing up the selection list.
Who are the exemption from passing AP TET?
Teachers who were appointed before NCTE notification, dated 23.08.2010 on selection by District Selection Committee or by the competent authority in Govt. / Local Authority as per Recruitment rules prevalent at that time are exempted from appearing for the TET Exam.
Who are not exempted from passing TET?
- Teachers working in private schools whose appointments were not approved by the competent authority in Government are not exempted from passing TET.
- Such teachers of private unaided schools can also appear for TET conducted by either State Government or Central Government.
- Teachers working in private aided schools whose appointment is not approved by the competent authority should invariably pass AP-TET only.
Can candidates from other states apply for AP TET?
Generally, AP TET is for Andhra Pradesh residents, but specific eligibility rules may allow candidates from other states.
