Eligibility Criteria for MH SET
To appear for the Maharashtra SET 2025, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Age Limit: No upper age limit for appearing for the Maharashtra SET 2025.
- Educational Qualification: Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university/institution with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PH/VH candidates)
- Candidates appearing for the final year of their Master’s degree or equivalent can also apply.
- Nationality: Indian nationals
- Candidates from Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet who have settled permanently in India
- PIO (Person of Indian Origin) and OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) cardholders are also eligible to apply.
MH SET Syllabus and Exam Pattern
The Maharashtra SET 2025 will consist of two papers: Paper I and Paper II. Paper I will be general and test the candidate’s teaching and research aptitude. Paper II will consist of questions related to the subject chosen by the candidate.

How To Apply for MH SET?
Before applying Online, candidates are advised to go through detailed notification available on SET website (http://setexam.unipune.ac.in). Candidate seeking admission to the Test (SET, 28th June, 2025) must apply online only.
Before applying Online, the candidates must possess the scanned images as below:
1) The passport-size photograph should be in JPG/ JPEG format for a maximum of 50 kb.
2) Signature in JPG/ JPEG format of a maximum of 30 kb.
You will require to enter “NUMBER” of any one of the following documents while filling online application form: Aadhar card / Voter Id/ Passport / Ration card/ Bank account or any other Govt. Identity
Procedure for submission of Application Form: Please go through all the details, such as Important dates and eligibility Criteria, before filling out the online Application form for the Maharashtra State Eligibility Test for Assistant Professor (MH-SET).
Before completing the actual Application Form, you should complete the User Registration Form with details such as your valid e-mail ID and password.
- To fill out the User Registration Form, first click on the Apply Now link on the Home page.
- Create your Username. Now, you can fill out the online MH-SET application form with your user registration Email ID and Password.
- The Username and password will also be mailed to your specified Email ID for your reference. (Your provided Email ID for Registration will be your Username.)
- The candidate needs to remember his/her Username and Password for further use.
Steps:
a. After logging in using your registered Username and password, click on Step 1: Fill Out the Main Application Form and fill out all the information carefully as per the given instructions.
b. Once you fill all the details, check all information is correct or not and then click on the “Submit” button.
c. You can see the preview of your filled Application form by clicking on Step 1 Fill Main Application Form.
d. After completing Step 1, the system will generate your application’s unique Application Number.
e. After completing Step 1, click on Step 2: Upload Scanned Photo and Signature, where you have to upload images, i.e., a passport-size photo(Max size:50kb JPG or JPEG File) and a Signature photo (Max size:30kb JPG or JPEG File). Please check and confirm both images before uploading them to the system.
f. After completing Step 2, click Step 3: Payment and Print Application Form, where candidates may pay the examination fee by credit/ debit card or Internet Banking.
i) Credit/ Debit card and Internet Banking: Only after a successful transaction can you download your Online Application Form. The form will have two pages: the first page contains Application form details, and the second page contains Online Payment Transaction Details.
g. Check whether you have printed all the 2 mentioned pages.
The Application Form should not be printed and sent to any Coordination Center or to the SET Department, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.
