Govt Of India, Ministry of Railways has published the RRB NTPC Recruitment 2025 notification in the Employment News for Non Technical Popular Categories.
The Indian Railways announces recruitments for lakhs of vacant positions every year, including Group C and D, clerks and station masters.
One of the significant railway recruitment exams is the Railway Recruitment Board Non-Technical Popular Categories Exam (RRB NTPC).
Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) invite ONLINE applications at https://www.rrbapply.gov.in/ from eligible candidates for vacancies for the posts of NON TECHNICAL POPULAR CATEGORIES (NTPC)
NTPC posts like Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Commercial Apprentice, Station Master, etc.

RRB NTPC Eligibility Criteria
- For undergraduate-level positions, candidates should be Class 12 pass with an age range of 18-30 years.
- Candidates should have a graduation degree with an age limit of 18 to 33 years for graduate-level posts.
- Candidates from SC, ST, OBC, and other reserved categories get age relaxation.
- Candidates should be physically fit and have no major illnesses.
RRB NTPC Salary Details
Salary after clearing the RRB NTPC Exam varies based on the position. For example, the salary for Junior Clerk cum Typist is Rs 19,900, Accounts Clerk cum Typist is Rs 19,000, Traffic Assistant is Rs 25,500, and Station Master is Rs 35,400.
Stages of RRB NTPC Exam
The RRB NTPC Exam consists of four stages:
- Stage 1: Computer-Based Test (CBT-1)
- Stage 2: Computer-Based Test (CBT-2)
- Stage 3: Computer-Based Aptitude Test/Typing Test
- Stage 4: Document Verification
RRB NTPC Exam Pattern
Exam Pattern for RRB NTPC CBT-1
- One hundred questions with a total of 100 marks.
- Thirty questions each for Mathematics and General Intelligence and reasoning.
- Forty questions for General Awareness.
- The exam duration is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Exam Pattern for RRB NTPC CBT-2
- A 2-and-a-half-hour exam with 120 questions and 120 marks.
- 35 questions each for Mathematics and Reasoning.
- 50 questions each for General Intelligence and General Awareness.

RRB NTPC Exam Fee
Candidates from the General and OBC categories must pay an application fee of Rs 500 to apply for the said posts. After deducting bank charges, Rs 400 will be refunded after appearing in the 1st Stage CBT.
Applicants belonging to the SC/ST, PWD, Women, Ex-servicemen, Transgender, Minorities, or Economically Disadvantaged categories need to pay Rs 250 as an application fee. The whole amount will be refunded after deducting bank charges upon appearing in the 1st Stage CBT.
