Govt Of AP, HOME DEPARTMENT- Creation of (290) posts to the Chief Minister’s Security Group (CMSG) in Intelligence Department, Andhra Pradesh – Sanction – Orders – Issued. Finance (HR.II) Department, GO.MS.No.219-Dated: 17-11-2016.

Reference:
1. Home Department’s e. File No.19028/8/2016/Ser.III, dated:30.08.2016.

ORDER:
In the reference first read above, the Home Department has stated that the Chief Minister’s Security Group of Intelligence Security Wing provides security to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh at Hyderabad, Vijayawada and while on tours. Vide G.O.Ms.No.99, Finance (SMPC) Department, dated 05-05-2007 a separate Chief Minister’s Security Group (CMSG) in Intelligence Department has been created to provide security exclusively to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh with a strength of 338 personnel.

Consequent to bifurcation of the State, 196 personnel only were allotted to the Chief Minister’s Security Group of the Residuary State of Andhra Pradesh and the remaining  142  personnel to the  Chief  Minister’s Security Group (CMSG) of Telangana State.  The present strength of Chief Minister’s Security Group of residual Andhra Pradesh i.e., 196 is grossly insufficient to provide security to the present Chief Minister. Therefore,  the  existing  strength  of  Chief  Minister’s  Security  Group (CMSG) needs to be enhanced to cater to the day-to-day needs at Vijayawada, Hyderabad and while on tour of the Hon’ble Chief Minister.

2. The Home Department has sent a proposal for sanction of additional strength of  (290)  posts comprising various categories for  Chief Minister’s Security Group for providing fool-proof security arrangements at Vijayawada, Hyderabad and while on tour.
