The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Goa will release the GCET 2021 notification along with schedule on its website. Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) is conducted for admission to professional degree courses. Candidates who seek admission in B.E. and B.Pharm. courses in institutes in Goa must appear for the exam.
As per the latest news, DTE of Goa, has deferred the application process for Goa Common Entrance Test 2021 (GCET). The DTE issued an official notice on its official website to announce the deferment of the Application process 2021. The GCET Application Process was scheduled to start on May 17 has been postponed till further notice. The Directorate of Technical Education, Goa has revised the dates for Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) exam date 2021 to June 15 and 16. The application process will begin on May 10 at the official website dte.goa.gov.in. Candidates will have to download the application form and submit them in the online mode. GCET applications will be accepted between May 17 to 22.
Candidates can continue submitting the GCET applications till June 4 with late fee. GCET 2021 exam will be held on June 15 and June 16. The result will be announced on June 22. Prospectus containing details of courses, seats, eligibility and merit criteria, rules and procedures for admissions, rounds of admissions, etc. shall be notified in March 2021.
According to information on the official website, GCET is the common entrance test for admissions to Engineering and Pharmacy courses in Goa. Candidates can choose from three subject combinations – PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics), PC (Physics and Chemistry), and PM (Physics and Maths), according to their preferred discipline. Application fee for the exam is Rs.2,000.
According to DTE, Goa Common Entrance Test, GCET 2021 shall be conducted in mid–June, 2021. Application forms for GCET 2021 shall be accepted in May 2021. Dates and procedure for submission of application forms for GCET 2021 shall be notified by 1st May, 2021 and exact date of conduct of GCET 2021 by 1st June 2021.
All students who wish to take admission in Professional Degree courses in MBBS, BDS, BHMS (Homeopathy), BAMS (Ayurveda), Allied Health Sciences (Paramedical), and B.Sc. in Nursing courses in the State of Goa in academic year 2021-22 are required to appear and qualify in NEET UG (National Entrance cum Eligibility Test). Students who wish to take admission in B.Arch. courses will have to appear for NATA exam.
GCET prospectus 2021 and detailed information will be released on the official website: www.dte.goa.gov.in. The GCET exam will be conducted for three papers. Exam duration for each paper will be 2 hours.
The examination for Physics paper will be conducted from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and the examination for Chemistry paper will be conducted the same day from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The examination for Mathematics paper will be conducted from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
GCET 2021 Exam Time Table: The GCET candidates will appear for three separate papers Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM). Physics and Chemistry papers will be on June 15. Maths paper will be on June 16. Physics paper will be from 10 am to 12 pm, Chemistry paper will be from 2 pm to 6 pm and the Maths paper will be from 10 am to 12 pm.
GCET 2021 Exam Centers: The entrance exam will be conducted at 15 exam centres across Goa in Tiswadi Cujira(Bambolim) , Panaji , Verna, Navelim, Vasco, Mapusa , Ponda, Ponda(Farmagudi) , Bicholim, Curchorem, Porvorim, Assagao, Sanquelim , Cuncolim and Dharbandora.
GCET will be conducted for admissions to undergraduate admissions into engineering and pharmacy courses in Goa. The exam will be based on the Class 12 syllabus of Goa Board for Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Students aspiring for admission only to BPharm course need not answer Mathematics subject at GCET-2021.
Goa Professional Degree Admission 2021
(A) Through NEET UG 2021: All students seeking admissions to MBBS, BDS, BHMS(Homeopathy), BAMS(Ayurveda), Allied Health Sciences (Paramedical), B.Sc. in Nursing & B.V.Sc. &A.H. courses in the State of Goa in academic year 2021-22 are required to appear and qualify at NEET UG-2021(National Entrance cum Eligibility Test).
(B) Admissions to B.E., B.Pharm. courses in the State of Goa for the academic year 2021-22 shall be carried out on basis of Goa CET 2021 (Goa Common Entrance Test), which shall be conducted in various Centres, across Goa State, in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Maths, based on Std. XII syllabus of Goa Board. Students aspiring for admission only to B.Pharm course need not answer Mathematics subject at Goa CET 2021.
(C) Admissions to B.Arch. course shall be on the basis of scores obtained at NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture), conducted by Council of Architecture, and qualifying exam(Std. XII /HSSC/Diploma.) For information regarding NATA, refer website of NATA and Council of Architecture.
Selection procedure: The candidates who pass the test will go through a counselling process. The candidates will receive a rank on the basis of their score in the exam. On the basis of the rank, the candidates will be allotted institutions in the counselling session.
Exam pattern: The GCET exam has four papers which carry 75 marks each. All papers contain 75 questions each. No negative marking is given in this exam. Each paper will be of two hours duration.
The GCET is a computer based examination. All the candidates will be tested on the following subjects:
- Physics: Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Optics, Electromagnetic Waves, Electronic Devices, Communication Systems, Atoms and Nuclei etc.
- Chemistry: Solid State, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Coordination Compounds, Aldehydes, Ketones And Carboxylic Acids, Bio-molecules etc.
- Biology: Reproduction, Genetics And Evolution, Iii Biology And Human Welfare, Iv Biotechnology And Its Applications and among others.
- Mathematics: Algebra, Calculus, Linear Programming, Probability etc.
Admission into MBBS, BDS and Degree in Architecture courses will be through NEET and NATA.
