The Board of Secondary Education, BSE has given Odisha TET 2025 or OTET 2025 notification on its official website, http://www.bseodisha.ac.in/.

Candidates who are interested in can check details and apply online mode at BSE Odisha website. BSE Odisha has released the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test, OTET Online application form 2025 on its official web portal.

All the candidates who meet the eligibility criteria shall submit an Odisha OTET application form.

The Online application form is available under the examination section of BSE Odisha official website- bseodisha.ac.in. Candidates must apply online on or before March 8.

Candidates should hold a graduation degree with at least 50 per cent marks as per OTET eligibility criteria. OTET is conducted every year for the recruitment of teachers for Class 1 to Class 8 in Odisha schools.

There are two levels in OTET. Candidates can fill the OTET application form 2025 for level 1, level 2 or both according to their eligibility. Paper 1 of OTET is for the aspirants who wish to teach in Class 1 to Class 5, and Paper 2 is for the ones who wish to teach in Classes 6 to 8.

Eligibility Criteria

Category A – OTET Paper I: The candidate should have passed Class 12 or its equivalent with at least 50 per cent marks.

Moreover, they should have two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (CT) or special education. or They should be a graduate with 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or 2-year Diploma in Special Education.

Category B OTET Paper II: The candidate should have passed Class 12 or its equivalent with at least 50 per cent marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B Ed) or Special Education. or They should be have passed Class 12 with at least 50 per cent marks and 4-year B.A.Ed./ B.Sc.Ed.

There is five per cent qualifying marks relaxation in +2 or graduation level for the candidates belonging to SC, ST,OBC/ SEBC category.

How to submit OTET Application Form 2025?

The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha is inviting applications for Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) for aspiring teachers.

Interested candidates can now apply for this eligibility test at the official BSE Odisha website, bseodisha.ac.in. In order to fill the OTET application form 2025, candidates can follow the steps mentioned below.

  • Candidates need to visit the official BSE Odisha website, bseodisha.ac.in in your device web browser.
  • Once you reach the official website, click on the link for online application for OTET on the home page, under the ‘latest updates’ column.
  • After reaching registration web page, click on the login for paper 1 or 2. Key in your mobile number and password to login.
  • Fill in the required personal details and educational qualifications and Upload the required documents, enter your address details in the Special OTET application form.
  • Review the OTET application and after Pay the application fees, and submit the application form.

OTET Exam Pattern 2025

As per the OTET 2025 exam pattern, the eligibility test will comprise two papers. Candidates can either opt for Paper 1 or Paper 2, or both according to the eligibility.

However, candidates taking both the papers — paper 1 and paper 2 will have to submit the OTET application forms separately.

Both papers will include questions on child pedagogy and development, a regional language (Odia, Urdu, Hindi, Telugu, Bengali) and English and will carry a total weightage of 150 marks.

Paper 1 will also include questions on mathematics and environmental science. Candidates of paper 2 will be allowed to choose between two sections including a) mathematics and science and b) social studies.

OTET Question Paper Details

  • There shall be two papers of the OTET viz- Paper-I and Paper-II.
  • Total duration of the test in each paper shall be 2½ hours.
  • All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), each carrying one mark with four alternatives out of which one answer is correct.
  • The question papers in non-language subjects shall be bilingual i.e. in Odia and English.
  • Following languages shall be offered in Language-I:- Odia, Hindi, Telugu, Urdu, Bengali. The candidate has to choose any one of the above languages for Language-I subject.
  • Language-II subject shall be English for all candidates.
  • There shall be no negative marking.

The exam will be held in two papers, the paper I and Paper II are compulsory. While candidates will have an optional exam for 60 marks as well.

The exam will have multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Every question will carry one mark and there will not be any negative marking in the exam.

The OTET is held to enroll teachers in class 1 to class 8. It is conducted in offline mode in two sets. Paper I is for the recruitment for class 1 to class 5 teachers and paper II is for class 6 to class 8.

Those who clear the OTET will be eligible to apply for jobs as teachers in class 1 to 8 in state-based schools. To qualify for the OTET, candidates will have to score at least 60 per cent. For candidates belonging to the reserved category, the minimum marks are 50 per cent.

The BSE is responsible to conduct the matriculation examinations for the Odia medium schools in the state every year along with the supplementary examinations.

How much is OTET application fee?

The OTET application fee is ₹400 for SC/ST category and ₹600 for Other Category of candidates. So, candidates will have to pay a registration fee of Rs 600. However, a concession of Rs 200 is available for candidates belonging to SC and ST categories. This means, candidates from ST and SC category will have to pay Rs 400.

What is OTET qualifying marks?

Candidates who will scores 60% or more in the TET Examination will be considered as TET pass. To qualify for the OTET, candidates will have to score at least 60 per cent. For candidates belonging to the reserved category, the minimum marks are 50 per cent.
