The Telangana State Government, TSCHE, and MG University EdCET officials have released the TG EdCET 2025 Notification and Schedule on the B.Ed CET official website, https://edcet.tsche.ac.in/.
Candidates who are interested in applying for the Bachelor of Education Common Entrance Test (TG EdCET) can check details and submit the application online on the registration web portal.
This entrance test for entry into 2 (Two) year Bachelor of Education(B.Ed) Regular Course in the Colleges of Education in Telangana State for the academic year 2025.
This time, it is also offered to those who have passed a Degree in Oriental Language for appearing in EdCET for B.Ed Course Admissions.
TSCHE has released the Entrance Tests Revised Schedule in Telangana State. The Education Department will conduct all the TS CETs according to the following revised dates. This year, all the entrance exams will be conducted online.
All the B.Ed courses, which were one year so far, are now two-year courses from the previous academic year. This means that a candidate can be eligible for a teacher post after five years of study, as the eligibility for B.Ed entrance is a three-year degree course.

The Bachelor of Education Common Entrance Test 2025 (Ed.CET 2025) may be conducted by the MG University in accordance with G.O.Ms . No.72 (SE Trg-1) on behalf of Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), Hyderabad. This TS Ed.CET will be held in August
From this year (2021), Measures have also been initiated in the state in line with the guidelines of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), which has been pushing for quality standards in teacher education.
The NCTE has suggested radical changes in the entrance examination for teacher education courses and directives to introduce only four-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) courses in the future.

As part of their implementation, the Board of Higher Education is changing the EdCET exam question paper to be conducted in August for admissions in B.Ed courses for the 2025 academic year.
So far, the entrance test has been conducted with different question papers in the respective subjects as per the Social Science and Mathematics methodologies, but this will no longer be the case. Steps are being taken to implement a single questionnaire for all methodologies.
The entrance examination will be conducted on a common paper for students who want to do B.Ed in any subject, increasing their choice.
A BSc Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry student can choose Mathematics or Physics methodology in B.Ed. BZC students can take Biology as well as Chemistry.
BA students are also required to be prepared for tenth-class level math and science subjects. Thus, EdCET has taken steps to change the entrance test question paper to test students’ grasp of all the major subjects up to the tenth class.
It will cover questions on ‘Teaching Aptitude’ as well as Mathematics, Science, Social, General English, General Knowledge, Educational Issues as well as Computer Awareness.
The academy is making arrangements to send proposals to the government on this. steps are being taken to get approval from the government within this period.

EDCET Examinations syllabus:
- Subject / Content : Questions will be drawn from class 1 to 10 syllabus of Telangana State curriculum with focus on reasoning and problem solving.
- Teaching aptitude: aptitude questions will be related to understand teaching-learning process, classroom management and mentoring with special Inference to teacher-pupil relationship.
- General English: Reading comprehension, spelling errors, vocabulary, phrase replacement, error detection and word association.
- General Knowledge: Current affairs (India and International), contemporary educational issues.
- Computer awareness: Computer (internet, Memory, networking, Fundamentals).
The University would invite the Online Applications from eligible Candidates for admission into 2 (Two) B.Ed course offered by state Universities in Telangana State including their Affiliated Colleges.

The Osmania University will be conducting TS Ed.CE in August for admission into B.Ed. (Two Years) regular course in the Colleges of Education in Telangana State for the academic year.
Eligible candidates submit their applications online mode only. Application registration fee of Rs.850/- (Rs.450/- for SC/ ST) should be paid at TS Online/AP Online/Mee-Seva/E-Seva Centres in Telangana State or A.P/ through Payment Gateway. Eligibility to Appear for TG EdCET 2025:
Candidates satisfying the following requirements shall be eligible to appear for Ed.CET 2025.
- (i) The Candidates should be Indian Nationals.
- (ii) The Candidates should satisfy Local/Non-Local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order 1974 as subsequently amended.
Educational Qualifications: Candidates should have passed or appeared for qualifying examination (a) In any Bachelors Degree i.e. B.A, B.Com, B.Sc, B.Sc (Home Science), BCA, BBM, B.A (Oriental Languages), BBA or in the Masters Degree, securing at least 50% aggregate marks.
(b) Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with 50% aggregate marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto.
(c) However, for candidates belonging to the reserved categories Viz., SC/ ST/ BC and Physically Challenged categories should have secured 40% Marks in the qualifying examination.
(d) The candidates who are appearing for the final year degree examination shall also be eligible to appear for TS Ed.CET.
(e) Note: As per the GO MS No: 13 dated. 27/5/2017, the Candidates possessing MBBS/ BSC (AG) / BVSC/ BHMT/ B.Pharm and such other professional and job oriented degree courses Viz., LLB are not eligible for admission into B.Ed Course.
(f) Candidates possessing a Master Degree without having undertaken undergraduate study are not eligible for admission.
Age Limit: The candidates should have completed the age of 19 years on 1st July of the year in which notification is issued. There shall be no maximum age limit.
Telangana State EdCET: The TG EdCET is held for admissions in two-year BEd course in various colleges across the State. The online registration for Telangana State Education Common Entrance Test has begun and the last date to apply through the website edcet.tsche.ac.in.

Engineering Students are eligible for B.Ed Course. B.Ed Course Duration is 2 (Two Years) from this Academic Year. If you want to excel in the teaching profession, BED is mandatory. In order to get admission in the BEd course which offers professional skills.
Edcet has to be written. Currently, an advertisement has been released for the TG EdCET entrance test in Telangana. Several changes have been made to the TG EdCET entrance exam in line with the new curriculum.
Preparation Tips: In order to qualify in the EdCET exam, all subjects up to tenth class at school level must be read. For this, the Telangana State Curriculum should read books comprehensively from primary level to tenth standard.
With good preparation and mastery of the subject, it is possible to achieve good marks (rank) in the entrance. There are still about four months to go before the EdCET test. So prepare a specific time table and prepare accordingly.
Make notes with important points that are easy to remember while reading textbooks. It is not only an ad set but also useful for future exams like TET and TRT. Read magazines for current affairs, general knowledge, follow news bulletins.
Prepare important news in the newspapers, paper cuts in the form of notes and look at it from time to time. Important items should be revised as many times as possible till the time of examination. To do this, use a previously written notebook.
NCTE To Resume 1-year B.Ed, M.Ed Courses From 2026-27 Academic Session After A Decade
The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) will reintroduce the one-year BEd and MEd programs in the 2026-27 academic session.
Candidates who have completed either a four-year degree or postgraduation can apply for the one-year BEd program. Those who have completed a three-year graduation must opt for the two-year BEd course.
Apart from revising the duration of the B.Ed program, the NCTE will offer the one-year M.Ed program full-time. On the other hand, the two-year programs will be offered only to those who are working as teachers and educators.
