The Ministry of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation is conducting the Nationwide painting and Essay writing competition on Water Conservation for the students of 6th 7th and 8th Standards to make the children aware about the need of conserving this precious resource and at the same time involving their parents and teachers in this noble cause.

Water Conservation Painting & Essay Writing Competitions

The Painting competition will be held in three stages, namely SCHOOL, STATE, and NATIONAL Levels. The following are the guidelines for your information.

The Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India (GOI) is conducting the Nationwide painting and Essay writing competition on Water Conservation for Students of 6th, 7th & 8th Classes at School, State, and National levels as a part of its campaign on Water Conservation to create widespread awareness among Students.

The Ministry has decided to conduct the School level competition in the Telangana State by involving more than Two lakh students of the above classes.

School, State & National Level Painting Competition on Water Conservation for 2017-2018: The Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India (GOI) is conducting the 8th Nationwide Painting Competition on Water Conservation for students of 5th, 7h & 8th classes at School, State, and National levels as a part of its campaign on Water Conservation to create widespread awareness amongst students.

The Ministry has decided to conduct the school level competition in the Telangana State by involving more than one and a half lakh students of the above classes.

School-level painting competition:

The school-level painting competition is to be organized by the School Head Masters/ Principles in their respective schools for 2 hours duration in any one of the working days before 15.12.2017 on the theme of “USE WATER WITH MORE CARE-SAVE OUR FUTURE GENERATION”. 

Three best paintings are to be selected from each school by the respective HM/Principal and the same along with the list of participants are to be forwarded to the Office of Regional Director, Central Ground Water Board (CGWB), Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Southern Region (SR), GSI Post, Bandlaguda, Hyderabad on or before 15.12.2017.

State-level Painting competition:
The State level Painting competition will be organized by CGWBwith the winners of the School level Painting competition at Hyderabad in the month of January 2018 and the winners of State level Painting Competition will be participating in the National Level Painting Competition to be held in the month of February 2018 at New Delhi. The State and National level winners will be awarded cash prizes.

All participants of the School, State, and National level will receive a Certificate of Participation from the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation.

The very purpose of this program is to sensitize the society through the student community towards the issue of water and the need for its conservation by involving the maximum number of Schools.

It is requested to issue necessary instructions to the concerned in the School Education Department to involve a maximum number of students in the School level Painting Competition. The guidelines are enclosed for circulation among Schools. Your kind co-operation in this regard is highly solicited.

Guidelines for 8th National Painting Competition 2017-18 for School Children of 5th, 7th & 8th standards:

Ministry of Water Resources, River Development &Ganga Rejuvenation has been spreading the message of water conservation through its various programs and activities. National Painting Competition on Water Conservation & pollution organized through Central Ground Water Board is one of such activities in which students of Class VI, VII & VIII take part from all over the country.

The prime objective of organizing painting competitions is to make the children aware of the need for conserving and protecting this precious natural resource and at the same time would involve their parents in this noble cause. Therefore, the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation has decided to conduct the 81h National Painting Competition on Water Conservation and Pollution during the year 2017-18. The 81h National Painting Competition is proposed to be held among the students of 6th, 7th and 8th standards across the country in three stages, namely, School, State, and National Level. The State Level winners and National Level winners will be awarded cash prizes.

A. School Level Painting Competition 2017-18

1. It is mandatory for all participants to have Aadhaar/ Aadhaar enrolment
2. The Theme for School level Painting Competition is “Use water with more care-save our future generation.”
3. School Principals are requested to organize painting competition of 2 hours duration at their schools.

4. Drawing materials for the School Level would be provided by the schools/ students and no expenditure in this regard would be borne by the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation /Central Ground Water Board.

5. Paintings may be made preferably on A4/A3 size paper, though there is no restriction on the type/size of the paper, paints, crayons, watercolor, etc.
6. All paintings must contain the following details at the back of the drawing sheet – Name of student, class, section, school, full school address, father/mothers name, telephone number of school and parents, mobile number of school and parents, Email ID if any and signature of Principal in the following format.

7. Paintings not signed by the school Principal or sent directly by student/parent to the Nodal Officer will not be accepted.
8. The Regional Director/ Head of Office/Officer-In-Charge/ of the Regional Offices/ Sate Unit Offices of CGWB are Nodal Officers for the painting competition for the State/UT’s under their jurisdiction.

9. Three (3) best paintings (1st,2nd & 3rd) are to be selected from each school and the same are to be forwarded to the concerned Nodal Officer of CGWB. The selection of the three best paintings from each school is to be done by the respective school authorities.
10. The School Level Painting Competition is to be concluded by 15th December 2017.

11. All participants of the School Level Competition will be given a participation certificate signed by the concerned Regional Director, CGWB and Principal of the respective school.
12. Each school will submit a list of participants to the concerned State Nodal Officer.
13. The use of collage/patchwork will not be permitted in the paintings.

B. State Level Painting Competition

1. The State Level Painting competition is proposed to be conducted in January 2018
2. The best 50 paintings will be selected by a Board of Jury comprising members including Nodal Officer from amongst the entries received from the schools.

3. The State Level Competition will be conducted with 50 students whose paintings are selected as best as 50 paintings from amongst the entries of the School Level Painting Competition.
4. The theme for the State Level Painting Competition will be disclosed at the venue.

5. Participants, along with two parents/guardians for the State Level Competition would be paid to and fro rail fare by ordinary bus/sleeper class rail fare from the place of residence to the place of Competition.

6. All participants should have Aadhar and must have/ either their parents should have a bank account linked with Aadhar and provide a photocopy of Aadhar and passbook having details of their bank account along with one canceled cheque for e-transfer of prize money and other incidentals. It is mandatory for all the participants.

7. An incidental charge of Rs. 1000/- would be paid to each of the 50 participants for attending the State Level Competition.
8. All drawing materials and associated requirements would be provided. Items may include a kit containing paints, a ruler, brushes, pencils, erasers, etc.

9. Drawing sheets for the painting will be provided. The sheets would be of 380 mm x 510 mm size (approx. 15″ x 20″).
10. Students are allowed to use their own painting materials if preferred. Use of collage/patchwork will .not be permitted in. th~ paintings.
11. All 50 students must submit three latest passport size colored photographs, preferably along with a soft copy.

12. All students should bring identity proof or letters from the respective school Principals.
13. The cash prize award is Rs. 5,000/- for First Prize (01 ), Rs. 3,000/- for Second Prize (01 Nos.) and Rs. 2000/- for Third Prize (01 Nos.). Ten Consolation Prizes (@ Rs. 1000/-) would also be awarded.

14. Winners will also be awarded a certificate of merit.
15. All-State Level Participants will be given a participation certificate for the State Level Competition.

16. Students who have won 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes at State/UT Level Competition in the previous 1st to ?1h painting competitions (i.e. during the years 2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17 ) are not eligible for participation in the 81h State Level Painting Competition. However,

The consolation prize winners of previous State Level Painting Competition (2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17) may participate this year (2017-18) also, but they would be considered for prizes only if they win 1st,2nd or 3rd prize in the 81h State Level Competition.

C. National Level Painting Competition:

1. The National Level Painting Competition is to be conducted in February/March 2018 in New Delhi.
2. The first, second and third prize winners of 8th State Level Competition from each of the States/UT’s (total 93 participants from 31 States/UTs.) would be called to New Delhi for the National Level Competition. The exact venue of the National Level Painting Competition would be informed afterward.

3. The National Level Competition would have one (1) first prize (Rs. 50,000), four (4) second prizes (@ Rs. 25,000) and five (5) third prizes (@ Rs 10,000). All remaining eighty-three (83) participants would be given consolation prizes (@ Rs. 5,000).

4. All students are required to bring and submit identity proof or letter from respective school principal along with three recent passport size color photographs at the time of registration at New Delhi. Water Conservation Painting Essay writing Competitions 2020 to Students

5. It is mandatory for all the participants.

6. All students would be paid to and fro rail fare by AC Ill Tier (including Shatabdi, Rajdhani or similar trains)/ AC Bus, along with two accompanying parents/guardians on the production of proof of journey undertaken in the entitled class.

Participants from A & N Islands and Lakshadweep would be reimbursed economy class Airfare from Port Blair/Agati to Delhi and back on production of proof of journey undertaken by them and as per actual. The reimbursement would be made for the participant and accompanying two parents/ guardians on the production of proof of journey undertaken by the entitled class.

7. Arrangements for stay (food and lodging) at Delhi will be made by the participants themselves. A lump sum amount of Rs. 2500/- would be paid to each participant of the National Level Competition for food, lodging, transport, and incidental charges.

8. Students with their parents/ guardians would report at the competition venue on the date on their own. Transport from station/ airport/ bus-stand would not be provided by the organizers.

9. The painting competition would commence at 10.30 hours and would be for two hours’ duration. The competition would end at 12.30 hours. The results of the competition would be declared at 16.00 hours.

10. All participants are to report at the competition venue at least one hour before the start of the competition for completing the registration formalities.
11. All drawing materials and associated requirements would be provided. Items may include a kit containing paints, a ruler, brushes, pencils, erasers, etc.

12. Students are allowed to use their own painting materials if preferred. The use of collage/patchwork will not be permitted in the paintings.
13. Drawing sheets for the painting will be provided. The drawing sheets would be of 380 mm x 510 mm size (approx. 15″ x 20″).

14. Selection of the prize winners and consolation prize winners will be completed on the same day by juries and winners awarded.
15. Winners will also be awarded a certificate of merit.

16. Arrangements for lunch, tea, etc., would be made for the day of the competition by the organizers.
17. All participating students and their accompanying parents/guardians shall remain at the venue until the entire event is over.

The very purpose of this program is to sensitize the society through student community towards the issues of water and the need for its conservation by involving the maximum number of Schools in Telangana State. This can be achieved with your kind co-operation and initiation.

Hence, it is requested to issue necessary instructions to the concerned in the School Education Department to involve a maximum number of schools and students in the School level Painting/ Essay Writing Competition to achieve the desired target of 2.0 lakh students from Telangana.
