Painting Competition on Water Conservation 2021
As Per Proceedings Rc.No.57, the State Project Director, SSA, Andhra Pradesh has informed to all the District Educational Officers and Project Officers, SSA that the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation,

Government of India (GOI) is conducting the 5th Nationwide painting competition on water conservation for students of 6th 7th & 8th classes at School, state and National levels as a part of its campaign on water conservation to create wide spread awareness among students. In this context, the SPD has requested to above said officers, SSA in state to take necessary action for conduct painting competition the schools in the state, as per given shedule.

  1. Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources is organizing 5th National Painting Competition on Water Conservation among the students of classes VI, VII & VIII.
  2. The objective of this painting competition is to create awareness among the growing children about conservation of water.
  3. The theme for the painting competition is ‘SAVE WATER, LIVE BETTER’ and “SAVE WATER, SECURE THE FUTURE”.
  4. This National Painting Competition is held in 3 stages i.e. School, State & National level.
  5. This painting competition on water conservation leads to innovative ideas for depicting the water stressed situation and solution for water conservation. It is well known that children are good motivators and if they follow good practices and others in society will follow them.
  6. Through this painting competition, Ministry of Water Resources is making an effort to create wealth of motivators to educate the society on water conservation at large.
  7. The Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India (GOD is conducting the 5th Nationwide painting competition on Water Conservation for Students of 6th, 7 th & 8th Classes at School, State and National levels as a part of its campaign on Water Conservation to create wide spread awareness among Students.
  8. The Ministry has decided to conduct the School level competition in the Andhra Pradesh State by involving more than One lakh students of the above classes.
  9. The very purpose of this program is to sensitize the society through student community towards the issues of water and need for its conservation by involving maximum number of Schools in Andhra Pradesh State.

Prizes to be Awarded

School Level:
All participants of school level competition will be given a Participation certificate signed by Regional Director, CGWB and Member Secretary, CGWA

State Level:
The cash prize award and a Certificate of Merit to the Winners
First Prize: Rs. 10,000
Second Prize : Rs. 8000
Third Prize: Rs. 5000
Ten Consolation Prizes (@ Rs. 1000) would also be awarded to all the Participants
All 50 participants in each state would be paid an incidental charge of Rs. 1000 for attending the state level painting competition.
Travel Expenses: Participant along with 2 parents/guardians would be paid to and fro fare by ordinary bus/ sleeper class rail fare.

National Level:
The cash prize award and a ‘Certificate of Merit’ to the Winners

  • All other participants would be given consolation prizes @ Rs. 5,000 to all the Participants
  • All participants from each state would be paid a lump sum amount of Rs. 3000 for food & lodging, transport and other incidental charges.
  • Travel Expenses: Participant along with 2 parents/guardians would be paid to and fro fare by ordinary bus/ AC III Tier.
  • Participants from A& N and Lakshadweep would be reimbursed to and fro economy class air fare.

The Painting Competition will be held in Three Stages

All Applications have to be sent through school. No Individual student or Parent can directly send the painting.

Stage I: School Level Painting Competition:

The School level painting competition is to be organized by the School Head Masters/Principals in their respective schools for 2 hours duration in any of the working days between 25.09.2021 to 11.11.2021 on the theme of “SAVE WATER-LIVE BETTER”.

Three best paintings are to be selected from each school by the respective HM/Principal and the same along with the list of participants are to be orwarded to the 0 ice o Re ional Director Central Ground Water Board CGWB Minis o Water Resources, Southern Region (SR), GSI Post, Bandlaguda, Hyderabad-500068, on or before 14.11.2021.

  • School Level Competition- To be conducted by between 25.09.2021 to 11.11.2021
  • School Principals will organize painting competition of 2 hours duration at their schools.
  • Drawing materials for the school level would be provided by the schools/ students. Ministry of Water Resources/Central Ground Water Board will bear no cost in this regard.
  • Use of collage/patchwork will not be permitted in the paintings.
  • Paintings can be made on A3/A4 size paper, there is no restriction on type/size of paper, drawing material like crayons, water colour, crayons etc.
  • Paintings not signed by the school Principal or sent directly by student/parent to the Nodal Officer will not be accepted.

Stage II: State level Painting Competition:

The State level Painting Competition will be organized by CGWB, SR, Hyderabad with the winners of School level Painting competition at Hyderabad on 26th, November, 2021 and the winners of State Level Painting competition will be participated in National Level Painting competition in the month of January 2022 at New Delhi.

The State and National level winners will be awarded cash prizes. All participants in School, State and National level will receive Certificate of Participation from the Ministry of Water Resources.

  • State Level Competition – To be conducted on November 26, 2021
  • The paintings received from schools all over the country will be further selected, The jury members will select 50 best painting out of them and they will qualify for stage 2 of the competition.
  • The state-level competition will be conducted with 50 students whose paintings are selected as best as 50 paintings from amongst the entries of the school level painting competition.
  • All drawing materials and associated requirements would be provided by CGWB. Items may include a kit containing paints, ruler, brushes, pencils, erasers, etc
  • The theme of state-level painting competition would be revealed on the spot.
  • Use of collage/patchwork will not be permitted in the paintings.
  • All 50 students must submit 3 latest passport size coloured photographs, preferably along with a soft copy.
  • All students should bring identity proof or letter from the respective school Principal.

Stage III: National Level Competition

  1. The winners of first, second and third prizes from each of the States/UT’s (i.e. three from each State/UT) would be called to New Delhi for the competition.
  2. All students are required to bring identity proof or letter from respective school principal.
  3. All drawing materials and associated requirements would be provided by CGWB. Items may include a kit containing paints, ruler, brushes, pencils, erasers, etc
  4. Use of collage/patchwork will not be permitted in the paintings.
  5. Drawing sheet size provided to the students will be of 380 mm x 510 mm size (approx. 15″ x 20″).
  6. The National Level painiting Competition would begin at 10.30 a.m. and end at 12.30 p.m. Results would be announced by 4 p.m. the same day.
