Ministry of Education will create APAAR ID (National ID) or Permanent Education Number (PEN) for all Students across India.

APAAR ID

In this endeavor to track the educational progress and achievement of students, a unique ID (APAAR ID) will be created for each student which will help to achieve the objectives of “One Nation, One Student ID”.

APAAR ID will access DigiLocker ecosystems

This unique ID will be lifelong and help in accessing the educational resources too. Further, this APAAR ID will be gateway for accessing the DigiLocker ecosystems that will allow students to digitally store all achievements of students like

• exam results,
• holistic report card,
• learning outcomes besides other achievements of students be it OLYMPIAD, Sports, Skill training or any field.
• Students can use the credit score for their higher education or employment purpose in future.

APAAR ID Consent Form

Ministry of Education will generate APAAR ID based on Aadhaar Number of each student for which separate consent of the parents is required.

The data so collected will be kept confidential and Aadhaar number will be masked while sharing the data with other government users.

Student’s PEN on SSC Memo and Hall Ticket 🔥

Telangana Government has given permission to the Director of School Education, Telangana / the Director, State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, Telangana to print the Permanent Education Number (PEN) of the student on the SSC Hall ticket and SSC Memo from the Academic Year 2023-2024 onwards under all managements in the State.

For making it mandatory to record the Student PEN in the School Admission Registers, School Attendance Registers.

And also it is mandatory to record the Student PEN in the Student Transfer Certificate/ Record Sheet from Pre-Primary to 12th Classes of each and every school and Jr. Colleges under all managements in the State from the Academic Year 2023-2024 onwards.

So that the schools will become aware of the importance of the coverage and up-dation of the student details on the UDISE+ Portal.

• SSC Hall ticket (10th Class Hall Ticket)
• SSC Memo (10th Class Memo)
• Transfer Certificate.

Use of APAAR ID for students, parents and schools as follows.

• APAAR ID will be unique nature and will work as One Nation, One Student ID.
• It is giving identify to students across all use purpose and will be easy for transfer of students from one school to other school, state etc.
• It will empower students with their own ID.
• This unique ID will be lifelong and help in accessing the educational resources too.
• APAAR ID will be useful for tracking educational progress and achievement of students/
• APAAR ID will be useful for monitoring the dropout students and mainstreaming them/
• APAAR ID will be gateway for accessing DigiLocker ecosystem which will store digitally all achievements of students.
• Students can use the credit score for their higher education or employment purpose in future.
• APAAR ID will also be used for multiple use cases e.g., Entrance tests conducted by NTA, admissions, Scholarship disbursement, transfer of government benefit, issue of awards, recognition etc., for students, teachers and other users.
