Approximately 2315 and 2169 teachers are employed at these schools, and many are turned over every year for various reasons.
Recruitment will be done for all the vacant posts. The exact number of vacancies available in the respective school will be announced by the School/Management while advertising for holding interviews/evaluating teaching skills.
The vacancies could be ‘regular’ or ‘fixed term’. The nature of the vacancies will be announced alongside the number of available vacancies.
Eligible candidates can apply for the recruitment till the deadline. The admit card for the screening test will be released in October, and the test will be held on in November. The result for the screening test will be released in November.
The minimum qualification required for PGT is post-graduation with a minimum of 50 percent marks. The candidates must also have a B.Ed. Degree with a minimum of 50 percent marks. The minimum qualification required for TGT and PRT is graduation with 50 percent marks.
Candidates applying for the TGT post must also have a B.Ed. degree with a minimum of 50 percent marks. For the PRT post, the applicant should have a B.Ed. degree or a Two-year Diploma with a minimum of 50 percent marks. Vacancies Details: The Army Welfare Education Society has 137 Army Public Schools (APS) located all over India functioning under its flagship.
Over 8,000 vacancies are likely to occur in the next academic session. The number of vacancies will be published, and selection will be carried out by respective schools/ management. A screening exam will be conducted to shortlist candidates to fill up vacancies for the academic year.
Educational Qualification:
- For Post Graduate Teacher (PGT): Must be post-graduate in the relevant subject with a minimum of 50% marks in B Ed.
- For Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT): Experienced Qualified Teachers to teach Secondary Classes (VIX). Graduate in the relevant subject plus a recognized Degree in Education.
- For Primary Teachers PRT: Qualified Teachers to teach all subjects in Primary Classes. Qualification – Graduate in the subject and have a recognized degree in education.
Age Limit:
- Fresh Candidates: Below 40 years (In the case of Delhi schools TGT/PRT should be < 29 yrs & PGT <36 years).
- Experienced Candidates: Below 57 years (Should have a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in the last 10 years).
- CTET/TET conducted by state governments is mandatory for appointment as TGTs/PRTs. Others
- found fit in all other respects may be appointed on ‘Adhoc’ basis only till attainment of qualification.
- However, CTET/TET is not mandatory for appearing in the CSB online Screening exam.
Application Fee: Exam Fee. Rs 500/- (non-refundable).

APS Recruitment Registration
Candidates are expected to register online for the screening exam by logging onto the Registration Portal: http://aps-csb.in.
The registration portal will be open as scheduled. Candidates can register at web Portal. Thereafter the portal will be closed for registration. The procedure to be followed will be as under:-
- Log onto the web-site http://aps-csb.in and study the detailed instructions for Registration that will be available on the portal.
- Fill up the personal information or the application form.
- The system will then ask the candidates to pay the exam fee ONLINE.
- The payment options are Debit/Credit Cards, Net banking, and bank Challan. A payment gateway has been integrated with the website for this purpose, and candidates will be guided through the payment process.
- After payment of fee, the candidates will be asked by the system to attach the following documents:
- (i) Photographs and signatures
- (ii) Proof of date of birth
- (iii) Certificates of academic qualifications.
- Once registration is completed, the candidates will get a confirmation that they have successfully registered themselves. Candidates will also be informed through e-mail and SMS regarding the same.
- A `Help Line’ will be available to the candidates to seek any assistance till the conduct of the exam. The helpline tab will be available on the portal https://aps-csb.in
- Candidates will also be given mock tests ON-LINE to familiarize them with the exam procedure
Selection Process
Will be done in three stages:
(a) Stage 1-Screening Exam. The exam is conducted on-line by an agency identified by HQ AWES centrally to ensure a uniform basic quality of teachers in all Army Public Schools.
Those who qualify in this stage will be given Score Cards which are valid for life provided the candidate picks up a teaching job in any CBSE affiliated school within three years from the date of passing the screening exam.
A Score Card will make candidates eligible to appear for the remaining stages of the selection process. In addition to fresh candidates, the following may also appear for the screening test:-
- Holders of Score Cards who want to improve their scores.
- Those desirous of upgrading themselves.
- For E.g. a candidate holding Score Card of TGT may now want to obtain a card for PGT, having acquired additional qualification.
(b) Stage 2-Interview. This shall be conducted at various centers in India for a single school or a cluster of schools as per the convenience of the Interviewing board.
(c) Stage 3-Evaluation of Teaching Skills and Computer Proficiency. For Language teachers, written test comprising Essay & Comprehension of 15 marks each will be held along with an evaluation of teaching skills. Selection Committee may also hold Computer proficiency tests if they so desire.
Notes:
1. Stages 2 & 3 will be held in tandem under the aegis of the Board of Administration at HQ
Command/School Management.
2. Appointments will be made as per CBSE/AWES Rules.
