EOI for Recruitment of Trainers for the School Project:
A vision to develop the state’s future generation as a modern-day workforce of global standards and to make the State the hub for high end, technical manpower, in the coming years, the infrastructure in the schools in the state and the delivery methodology are being geared up. This is being done with a view to foster curiosity, creativity, and imagination in young minds; and inculcates skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing, etc.
The program is being in a workshop model, covering various components of Computational Thinking, Robotics, Maker Workshops, Vulnerability Mapping, Lifeskills, Google cardboard and Cyber Security, introduced to students from class 8 to class 12. Parallelly, in these schools, APSSDC is also conducting programs on Digital literacy, Basic computer skills, English and Soft skills.
While this engagement is being proposed for further scale up, the attempt is to enable a complete and holistic intervention cutting across technology, content delivery, student engagement and Infrastructural efficiencies for delivery, which will impact both the Learner and the Teacher in Toto.
The model proposed is to introduce a blend of Vocational Skills, Computer Skills & Technology, Life Skills, Computational Thinking, Digital Literacy, and Soft skills. APSSDC proposes to be the integrator of this initiative to integrate the various components proposed subsequently, in various schools of AP, with the support of the Social Welfare Department. , tribal welfare department and the School education department.
This initiative is proposed to be implemented for Classes 6 to Class 12 in Model schools and tribal and social welfare residential schools. This initiative is being implemented by APSSDC in association with various training agencies and Knowledge partners. The following requirements for the various workshops are being proposed as a minimum qualification for the trainer/mentor.
Candidates can apply for any one or more of the workshops.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
COMPUTATIONAL WORKSHOP:
A. GENERAL SKILLS
1. An ideal candidate should be digitally literate, being able to use Office productivity tools and have a good understanding of basic Windows operations. The candidate should also be Internet literate, being able to perform Google searches to find any information needed.
2. The candidate should be proficient in a general purpose programming language (C,
C++, Java etc).
3. Must be able to communicate well in English.
B. SPECIFIC SKILLS
1. Candidate should be able to make functional programs in that language using major
language features (variables, loops, conditional branching, input/output, arrays) and
should be able to debug programs to fix errors.
2. An ideal candidate will have a Btech CS/IT/EC, BCA, BSc CS, MCA or an MTech in
CS and candidates who may lack a similar degree but have programming experience
can be considered. Some experience as a computer teacher is a plus.
3. Good oral communication skills with creative problem solving abilities.
4. Should have good Project and Time management skills.
GOOGLE CARDBOARD WORKSHOP:
A. GENERAL SKILLS
1. should have sound understanding of gamification in learning and teaching students with interactive learning technologies like AR,VR and Serious Games
2. Basic idea about Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and serious
educational games.
3. Understanding of concepts in science curriculum of 8th, 9th and 10th standard students
4. Good communication skill, ability to explain science concepts with clarity
5. Compassionate and patient with slow learners
B. SPECIFIC SKILLS
1. Knowledge of science curriculum of 8th, 9th and 10th std of schools in Andhra Pradesh
2. Understand the fundamental idea of gamification in learning
3. Must have good communication skill in English medium and local language
4. Should follow pedagogically sound practices and should know how to use different levels of Bloom’s taxonomy in classroom (will be covered during Train the Trainers workshops as well)
5. Should be compassionate and patient with students especially slow learners

4. Ability to articulate the lessons for translation
5. Ability to be spontaneous & interactive with children

B. SPECIFIC SKILLS
1. Should be aware of the social laws, state govt. schemes, state specific bureaucratic systems, and community resources relevant for course topics.
2. Ability to facilitate the session in such a way that they are able to hold each child’s interest.
3. Ability to speak publicly.
4. Fluency in Telugu and English – spoken and written.
5. A degree in MSW or related degree is recommended.

MAKER, DESIGN AND 3D PRINTING WORKSHOP:
A. GENERAL SKILLS
1. Should be digitally literate, being able to use MS Office productivity tools and have a good understanding of basic Windows operations.
2. Should have a strong sense of responsibility, as the use of tools in this workshop requires a maturity to address safety concerns.
3. Fluent in English and should be capable of translating the course in Telugu if necessary.
4. Should be capable of using a tablet device and teach students the same.
5. Capable of observing and analyzing a student’s learning curve and ability to breakdown skills to be taught in meaningful chunks.
6. Emotional intelligence is a key skill set expected in every mentor.
B. SPECIFIC SKILLS
1. An ideal candidate should be from mechanical or electronics background with good knowledge of physics, mechanics and electrical circuits.
2. Knowledge of product design or CAD modeling software is a plus.
3. Should have cursory knowledge in use of carpentry tools, electric drill and other mechanical machine tools.
4. Encourage novelty and innovative ideas from the students and enhance it.
5. Good oral communication skills with creative problem solving abilities.
6. Demonstrated Time management and Project management skills is a plus.
