Vocationalisation of School Education Project Programmes: AP State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) is the focal organization for all skilling initiatives in the State of Andhra Pradesh. APSSDC is the implementing arm of the Department of Skill Development, entrepreneurship and innovation (SDEI) and has been set up to implement a structured and pragmatic solution to skill and up-skilling the workforce in the state and to increase employability and promote entrepreneurship in sync with the industrial growth of the state.

With a vision to develop the state’s future generation as a modern day workforce of global standards and to make the State the hub for high end, technical manpower, in the coming years, the infrastructure in the schools in the state and the delivery methodology are being geared up.

This is being done with a view to foster curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds and inculcates skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing etc.

School Education Project Components:
The Vocationalisation of School Education Project program is being in a workshop model, covering various components of
*- Computational Thinking,
*- Robotics,
*- Maker Workshops,
*- Vulnerability Mapping,
*- Life skills,
Google cardboard and Cyber Security, introduced to students from class 8 to class 12.
Parallelly, in these schools, APSSDC is also conducting programs on
*- Digital literacy,
*- Basic computer skills,
*- English and Soft skills.

School Education Project/Programme Objectives:
The overall objective of this program is to expose students to
1. Articulate a problem and engage in creative problem-solving,
2.  Seek information, support, and address with solutions
3.  Draw upon a wide array of general and content-specific skills and knowledge.
4.  Master new skills in an environment that emphasizes process and product over the content
5.  Provide experiential learning environment using the latest technology to kindle their innovative spirit, to instill the can-do attitude, and to create curious young minds who are ready to re-imagine the world using science and technology
6. Establish career aspirations and stay invested in education progression

While this engagement is being proposed for further scale up, the attempt is to enable a complete and holistic intervention cutting across technology, content delivery, student engagement and Infrastructural efficiencies for delivery, which will impact both the Learner and the Teacher in Toto.

The model proposed is to introduce a blend of Vocational Skills, Computer Skills & Technology, Life Skills, Computational Thinking, Digital Literacy, and Soft skills. Vocationalisation of School Education Project Programmes

APSSDC proposes to be the integrator of this initiative to integrate the various components proposed subsequently, in various schools of AP, with the support of Social Welfare Department, tribal welfare department and the School education department.

This initiative is proposed to be implemented for Classes 6 to Class 12 in Model schools and tribal and social welfare residential schools. This initiative is being implemented by APSSDC in association with various training agencies and Knowledge partners.
