Bihar TET Certificates Valid For Life Time: The validity of the Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test (BTET) certificate has now been extended for a lifetime.

The State Education Department issued a notification on 11-06-2024 in response to the National Council for Teacher Education’s guidelines.

The validity period of a TET certificate earlier used to be seven years. For more details are available at http://biharboardonline.bihar.gov.in.

Education Department is concerned appointing authority will take action according to this order. Now a candidate after clearing the BTET examination will be eligible to apply for an appointment to the post of teacher subject to other conditions contained in the relevant appointment rules.

On June 9 the Union Education Ministry extended the validity of the Teacher Eligibility Test, TET qualifying certificates from seven years to a lifetime with a retrospective effect from 2011.

The state governments were asked to comply with the new rule and issue fresh certificates and revalidate those certificates for the period of seven years that has already lapsed.

Following this, the Bihar government has now extended the validity of the TET certificates for a lifetime with a retrospective effect from 2012.

The first TET certificates in the state were issued in May. The TET certificate that will be issued in the future will likewise be valid for life.

Bihar TET 2024: Bihar School Education Board (BSEB) will conduct Bihar State Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) on the notified date.

The schedule and other details for the exam will be released soon on the board’s official website. The Bihar School Examination Board has made all the information, such as eligibility criteria, instructions to fill online application forms available at the Bihar TET web portal

Bihar TET is being conducted for recruitment of Primary school teachers to fill vacant posts under the directives of the RTE Act 2009.

Bihar TET is an eligibility exam qualifying which means that a candidate is fit to teach up to class 8th in a primary school. Qualifying the exam does not necessarily ascertain recruitment as a teacher. The application process can be completed in the online mode.

Eligibility for Bihar TET: The eligibility criteria for teachers for class 1 to 5 and for class 6 to 8 varies. Check detailed eligibility below:

Teachers for class 1 to 5: Minimum 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent and 2 years training in Elementary Education. OR

Minimum 45% marks in 10+2 or equivalent and 2 years training in Elementary Education obtained as per National Council for Teacher Education Regulations, 2002. OR

Minimum 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent and 4 year B.El.Ed. degree. OR Minimum 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent and 2 years training in Elementary Education and qualified in TET conducted by either central or Bihar government

Teachers for class 6 to 8: BA or B.Sc. degree and 2 years training in Elementary Education.
OR Minimum 50% marks in graduation and 1 year B.Ed. degree. OR

Minimum 45% marks in graduation and 1 year B.Ed. degree obtained as per the National Council for Teacher Education Regulations, 2002. OR

Minimum 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent and 4 years B.El.Ed. degree or BA/B.Sc. Ed. Or BA Ed./B.Sc. Ed. OR Graduation with minimum 50% marks and one year B.Ed. (special education) and qualified in TET conducted by either central or Bihar government

Age Limit: Upper age limit for General male candidate: 35 years, Upper age limit for General female/OBC: 38 years and Upper age limit for SC/ST: 40 years

Application Process: Online application form is available at biharboardonline.com. To complete application procedure you will need to upload scanned copy of a colored passport size photograph and a copy of your signature.

You can pay application fee either online or offline through an e-challan at nearest State Bank of India branch. Do not forget to take a printout of filled-in application form as it will be needed for entry in the exam hall. 

Exam Details: BSEB will conduct the selection process in two-stages – written exam, and physical fitness test.

The total marks allotted to selection process is 150 marks out of which 100 marks is for written exam and 50 marks is for physical fitness test. An official announcement for the recruitment is awaited from the board’s side.

The exam will be conducted separately for class 1-5 teachers and class 6-8 teachers. The exam will have two papers. Paper I will be for class 1-5 teachers and Paper II will be for class 6-8 teachers.

If you are one of those candidates who fulfill eligibility for both class 1-5 and class 6-8 then and wish to apply for both, you will have to qualify in both papers. 

Paper pattern for Paper I: Paper I will have five sections. The paper will be of two and a half hours duration. There will be total 150 questions, that is 30 questions in each section. Each question will carry one mark.

  • Language I (Hindi/Urdu)
  • Language II (Urdu/Bengali)
  • Mathematics
  • Environmental Science

Bihar TET Admit Card 2024

The Board will upload the admit card of the exam later and the candidates will be informed about this. Admit cards for the same can be downloaded at the official website.

The exam will be conducted in two sessions. The first session will begin at 10:00 am and end at 12:30 pm, and the second session will begin at 2:00 pm and conclude at 4:30 pm. 

In first session paper I will be conducted which is for teachers for class 1 to class 5. In the second session paper II will be conducted which is for teachers for class 6 to class 8.

Apart from the date and time of the exam, rest all details will remain same for the Teachers Eligibility Test as notified by the Board earlier.

The application process for Bihar TET was conducted from April 6 to April 25. The exam is being conducted to fill primary teachers vacancy in government schools in Bihar.

Apart from the eligibility criteria, the candidates who have applied for the exam will also need to score certain pre-determined marks to qualify in Bihar TET.

General Male candidate would need 90 marks, Backward Classes/ OBC/ Female/ Physically Handicapped candidates would need 83 marks, and Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe candidates would need 75 marks to qualify in the exam. If a candidate appears in both the papers, then they will have to obtain qualifying marks in both the papers separately.

Bihar TET Result 2024

Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test result would be declared by the Bihar School Education Board (BSEB) on its official website. The Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) was conducted as per the schedule by the Bihar School Education Board at 348 exam centres across the state of Bihar.

The Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test was open for only trained teachers this time and the exam pattern for Bihar TET was different this year as compared to previous TET exams organized by BSEB in the past.
