What is HP TET?

Himachal Pradesh TET

HP TET Eligibility Criteria

HP TET Application Fee

General and their sub-category candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs.800 while OBC/ST/SC/Physically handicapped candidates need to pay Rs 500. It should be noted that service charges and service tax if applicable will be charged extra by the bank.

HP TET Registration

The registration for the first phase of HP TET 2025 will open on May 04 and for the second phase, the registration will begin on September 27, 2025.

HP TET Online Application: How to submit?

• Candidates need to visit the official website, hpbose.org.
• Click on the link that reads ‘HP TET 2025’ available on the homepage
• Click on the ‘register tab’ and register yourself first
• Then, an application number will be generated; candidates are requested to note that number
• After the registration, apply that application number and fill the application form
• Fill the required details and upload the scanned image in the mentioned size
• Pay the application fees
• Check the application form and click on submit

Validity: The TET qualifying certificate would remain valid for an appointment for seven years from the date of declaration of result.

There will be no restriction on the number of attempts a person can make to acquire a TET certificate. A person who has qualified TET may also appear again to improve his/her score.

Applicability: TET shall apply to a school of the H.P./State Government/local authority referred to sub-clause (i) of clause(n) of section 2 of the RTE Act and a school referred to in sub-clause (ii) of clause(n) of section -2 of the RTE Act in the State.

A school referred to in sub-clause(iv) of clause(n) of section-2 of the RTE Act may exercise the option of considering either the TET conducted by the State Government or the TET conducted by the Central Government.

HP TET Exam 2025

HP TET 2025 will be conducted for teaching courses such as Language, Sashtri, Punjabi, Urdu, TGT-Arts, TGT-Medical, and others.

Candidates should note that there is no upper age limit to apply for the HP TET Exam. Further, once candidates qualify, the qualification certificate is valid for seven years.

Candidates should note that the eligibility criteria vary for each teaching course. For teaching courses such as TGT Arts, TGT Medical, candidates should secure at least 50% in the Bachelor Exam.

Further, candidates should have completed one year of B.Ed before applying for the exam. Candidates should review all eligibility criteria released by the official website before appearing for the exam.

HP TET Exam Details

The HP TET examination will comprise 150 marks for all papers. It will be in pen-and-paper mode. Questions asked in the exam will be objective MCQs.

Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test, HP TET is a state-level exam conducted by Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE), Dharamshala.

HP TET Exam Pattern

Refer to the examination pattern for HP TET exam provided below. The Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test is an offline exam.

Thus, candidates have to mark answers on the OMR sheet with a black or blue ballpoint pen. Since answers must be marked using pen, candidates cannot change them once they have been marked.

All questions are in multiple-choice questions with a single correct answer. Candidates have to attempt 150 questions in 150 minutes. Each question is of 1 mark. There is no negative marking.

The question papers are bilingual, in English and Hindi. The question papers for Shastri are partly in Sanskrit and partly in Hindi. The Punjabi / Urdu LT papers are in Punjabi / Urdu / English only.

Stage in HP TET

HP TET selection process includes the following stages:

• HP TET application form: Firstly, candidates need to fill the HP TET application form in online mode on the official website of HP BOSE
• HP TET admit card: Once the application process is over, candidates need to download their HP TET admit card/hall ticket from the official website of the exam
• HP TET exam: Next, candidates need to take the HP TET exam offline mode for their chosen subject
• HP TET result: Once the exam is over, HPBOSE declares HP TET result on its official website. Candidates clearing the written exam are then issued HP TET certificates based on which they can apply for the job of teacher in the schools of Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, HPBOSE has released the Admit Card for HP TET on its official website.

Candidates who have applied for the HP TET examination can now download their admit card through the candidate login on the official website, hpbose.org. HP TET Admit Card 2025 can be downloaded using the candidate login details—registration number/roll number and date of birth/password.
