IOCL Apprentices Posts: IOCL Apprentices Posts Recruitment 2020 notification released on its official website. Indian Oil Corporation Limited, IOCL is inviting applications from the eligible and interested candidates to apply for Apprentice posts.
The last date to apply for the post is till December 19, 2020. This Fresh recruitment drive would fill up 436 posts in the organization.
Technical and Non-Technical Apprentices would be engaged at its Locations in States & Union Territory of North India (Chandigarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand & Uttar Pradesh).
“Fresher apprentice” means a non-graduate apprentice, who has not undergone any institutional training or skill training, before taking up on-the-job training or practical training under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Read below for eligibility, selection process, and other details.

Duration of Apprentice Training
- For all disciplines: 12 months
- For Trade Apprentice – Data Entry Operator (Fresher Apprentices) & Trade Apprentice – Data Entry Operator (Skilled Certificate Holders): 15 months
The selection process includes a written test. The written test shall be of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ’s) consisting of 4 options with one correct option.
The candidate has to choose the correct option. There shall be 100 questions in the Written Test and Total marks shall be 100. Each correct answer shall carry 1 mark.

Eligibility Criteria for IOCL Trade Apprentice posts:
Educational Qualification: Candidates can check the educational qualification from the Official Notification available here. The qualification prescribed shall be from a recognized University/Institute as a full-time regular course in relevant disciplines. Qualification acquired through Part-time / Correspondence / Distance Learning mode shall render the candidate ineligible.

The selection of a candidate will be on the basis of the performance of the candidates on the basis of marks obtained by them in the Written Test. Selection Process for IOCL Apprentice Posts:
Selection shall be on the basis of performance of the candidates on the basis of marks obtained by them in the Written Test (Duration 90 Minutes) and meeting notified eligibility criteria. The written test will comprise of 100 questions with Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) consisting of four option with one correct option. The questions would be in bilingual i.e. English & Hindi.
The written test will be conducted at Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow and New Delhi. Upon completion of the Apprenticeship period the Corporation shall have no obligation to offer employment to such apprentices nor can an Apprentice claim right for employment on the grounds of completion of Apprenticeship. Scheme of Exam:
The Written Test will comprise of 100 questions and will be of 90 minutes duration. The written test will mainly comprise of objective type multiple choice (MCQ’s) questions. The questions would be in bilingual i.e. English and Hindi.

Generic Aptitude including Quantitative Aptitude – 30 Marks
Reasoning Abilities – 30 Marks
Basic English Language Skills – 40 Marks
Trade Apprentice (Fitter/Electrician/Electronics Mechanic/Instrument Mechanic/Machinist) & Technician Apprentice (Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation/Civil/Electrical & Electronics/Electronics):
Technical Acumen in relevant discipline – 40 Marks
Generic Aptitude including Quantitative Aptitude – 20 Marks
Reasoning Abilities – 20 Marks
Basic English Language Skills – 20 Marks
The written test will assess a candidate’s general aptitude, reasoning ability, basic English language skills, and in case of Technical Apprentice, it will also test their ‘technical acumen in the relevant discipline’.
The candidates will have to secure a minimum of 40% marks in written test to qualify for selection process. The minimum qualifying marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD categories against reserved positions is 35%.
The verification of the original documents shall be done at the time of conduct of Personal Interview.
Apprenticeship training: Apprenticeship training will be carried for 12 months. The date of written test and personal interview for all disciplines will be informed to the candidates on it.
