Karnataka SET 2025

Karnataka SET 2025 will be held for 41 subjects at 11 nodal centres across Karnataka. Candidates who qualify the KSET are governed by the recruitment rules and regulations stipulated for the post of Assistant Professors of concerned universities, colleges, institutions (government or aided or private) of Karnataka state.

Candidate who became eligible in Previous KSETs are not eligible to apply again in the same subject. If any candidate found to be eligible in previous KSET tests and reappearing on same subject in current KSET, their candidature will be cancelled and the previous eligibility is withdrawn through de-notification,” the exam notification reads.

Candidates who qualify the KSET will be eligible for the recruitment of Assistant Professor post in Universities / Colleges / Institutions (Government/ Aided /Private) of Karnataka.

KSET Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have obtained at least 55 per cent of the marks (without rounding off) in the Master’s degree exam or an equivalent test for the general category and 50 per cent for the Schedule Category (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PWD), Transgender, and OBCs, i.e. Cat-I, IIA, IIB, IIIA and IIIB. There is no maximum age limit for applicants to register for this exam.

KSET Selection Process 2025

The KSET 2025 has been divided into two papers, each of which will have objective type Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs).

Paper 1 will include 50 mandatory objective-type questions, each worth 2 marks. The candidate’s ability to teach and do research will be evaluated by general questions in Paper 1.

Paper 2 will, on the other hand, consist of up to 100 questions each worth two marks and dependent on the candidate’s chosen subject.

KSET Exam Day Guidelines:

Candidate must carry his/her admission card to the examination center along with photo id proof. The examination hall/room will be opened 30 minutes before the time specified for the exam.

Candidates who are late by more than 20 minutes shall not be admitted to the examination hall. Candidates are not allowed to leave the examination hall/room until 10.00 a.m. in the 1st session and 12.00 noon in the second session of the examination. The candidate will not be permitted to go to the toilet during the last 20 minutes of the examination in each session.

A seat marked with a roll number shall be allotted to each candidate. The candidates shall be required to check their roll number and occupy the seats allotted to them by 9.00 am. Each candidate needs to bring his/her ballpoint pen (blue or black), pencil, and eraser.

If a candidate writes his/ her Mobile number or puts any special mark at any place in the OMR Sheet which may disclose, in any way, the identity of the candidate, he/she will render himself/herself liable to disqualification, under unfair means rule.

The use of calculators & Log Tables is not permitted. Any electronic devices including Cellular, Mobile, Satellite Phone, Pager, etc. are not allowed in the examination hall/room under any circumstances.

Each candidate will have to produce his/her Admit Card/photo ID Proof on demand by the Invigilator/Examination Superintendent/Observer.
