Maharashtra TET 2025 or MAHATET 2025 notification will be released by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination on its official web portal, mscepune.in.

The Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is a state-level exam conducted by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) to recruit eligible candidates for teaching positions in government and private schools in Maharashtra.

More than 10 lakh aspirants are expected to appear for MAHA TET 2025 or Maharashtra TET 2025 which is being held after a gap of two years.

Here’s an opportunity for candidates aspiring to make a career in teaching. MAHA Govt has permitted the Maharashtra State Council of Examination to conduct the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test ( MAHA TET 2025) between September 15 & December 31 across the state.

For this, Maharashtra Education Department has announced the tentative schedule of the state teacher eligibility test (MAHATET).

The exam is held for selection of teachers for classes 1-8. In this exam, Paper, I is applied by the candidates eligible to teach primary classes from class 1 to 5, while Paper II is applied to candidates who can teach higher classes from class 6 to 8.

What is Maharashtra TET 2025?

Maharashtra TET 2025 is the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test conducted to test candidates’ eligibility to become teachers in government and private schools in Maharashtra.

It is a mandatory exam for all those candidates who wish to become teachers for classes I to VIII in Maharashtra.

The Maharashtra TET is conducted in three languages: Marathi, English, and Urdu. The examination comprises two papers, which means the Maha TET is divided into two categories: Paper I and Paper II.

Candidates can choose to appear for both. Paper I is for candidates eyeing posts as primary teachers, whereas Paper II is for candidates aspiring to be secondary school teachers.

Appointment to the post of teacher happens only after a candidate qualifies the TET exams. The Right to Education Act, 2009, mandates that all states conduct TET exams for the appointment of teachers to all types of schools.

Maharashtra TET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To appear for the Maharashtra TET 2025, the candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria: Age Limit: There is no upper age limit to apply for the Maharashtra TET 2025 exam.

Educational Qualification

For Paper-I (Classes I to V):

• The candidate should have passed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with a minimum of 50% marks.
• The candidate should have completed or be pursuing a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
• Candidates who have completed or are pursuing a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) are also eligible to apply.

For Paper-II (Classes VI to VIII):

• The candidate should have a graduation degree with a minimum of 50% marks.
• The candidate should have completed or be pursuing a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
• Candidates who have completed or are pursuing a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) are also eligible to apply.

Steps to Submission of MAHATET Online Application Form:

• Log on to CTET’s official website, www.mahatet.nic.in.
• Go to the link “Apply Online” and open the same.
• Fill in the Online Application Form and note Registration No./Application No.
• Upload Scanned Images of the latest Photograph and Signature.
• Pay the Examination Fee by e-challan or debit/credit card and net banking
• Print the Confirmation page for record and future reference.

MAHATET Fee: Candidates from the general category must pay Rs 500 if they want to appear for one exam and Rs 800 for both exams. ST and SC will have to pay Rs 250 for one exam and Rs 400 for two exams.

The Maharashtra State Council of Examination conducts Maharashtra Teachers Eligibility Test 2021 to select eligible primary and upper primary teachers from classes 1 to 8.
