Teachers have played pivotal roles in shaping and moulding our lives and enabling us to develop as conscientious citizens of the 21st Century. The MHRD acknowledges and recognizes integral and the essential role played by the teachers.

5th Sept (the day when one of the greatest teachers Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born) is the day when we together express our solidarity with the Teaching Community.

MHRD Gurutsav Essay Writing Competition

This year, in order to combine the voice of the entire student community in thanking their teachers, the MHRD has decided to organize an Essay Writing Competition for gratefully acknowledging the role teachers play in our lives.

The Ministry strongly feels that today’s generation should find a voice in remembering the selfless services of the teachers who play a vital role in shaping future generations.

The Ministry, therefore, announces an Essay Writing Competition, and invites entries from the students to share inspiring stories about their teachers. This Competition will be conducted on 1st September 2014.

Sptember 5th, the birth anniversary of former president Dr.S. Radhakrishanan, has been always known as Teachers’ Day (Shikshak Diwas).

For the Union ministry of human resources and development  has issued a circular for Dr. Rafhakrishnaan’s 126th birth day anniversary avoids using the term at all.

The human resource development ministry(MHRD) has announced ‘Gurutsav 2014’, an essay writing competition where students can send online and offline write ups “sharing inspiring stories about their teachers”.

The competition will be conducted September 1st and the entries are invited in English as well as all 22 Scheduled languages.

This activity can also conducted offline by the schools and the entries can be sent through E Mail and mobile. The last date of registration is August 30 till 5.30 p.m..

Winners will be felicitated September 5th, celebrated as Teachers’ Day which is also the birth anniversary of Servepalli Radhakrishnan The First Vice President of India
