Science Seminars for AP Schools at National, State, District, Mandal, School Level. Science Seminar – National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) organizes the annual ‘Student’s Science Seminar’ in every year.

School students studying up to class X can participate in this competitive event. The objective of the Science Seminar is to inculcate a spirit of scientific enquiry and analytical thinking in the minds of young students.

The Science Seminar is organised on a competitive basis in each State and Union Territory. The Science Seminar is deliberated generally at School, Block, District and State level. Winners from each School participate at the Block level. Winners of Block level participate at District level Competition. Two winners from each District participate in State/UT level contest and only one winner from each State/Union Territory is eligible for National level Competition.

National Science Seminar  2018: Birla Industrial & Technological Museum, Kolkata will organize the National Science Seminar for the students on the 9th November 2018. This year, the topic of the seminar is The topic for the National Science Seminar is “Industrial Revolution (IR) 4.0: Are we Prepared?”. The objective of the Science Seminar is to inculcate a spirit of scientific enquiry and analytical thinking in the minds of young students. The Science Seminar will be conducted on a competitive basis in each State and Union Territory.

The Seminar is organized generally at School, Block, District and State level before culminating at the National Level. Winners from each School participate at Block Level seminars and winners of Block Level seminars participate at the District level seminars. A maximum of 2(Two) winners from each District participate in State/UT level Seminar and only one winner from each State I Union Territory is eligible for National Science Seminar, which will be held.


National Level Competition, which will be held at the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum on 5th October 2018 (Friday).

The Science Seminar is deliberated generally at School, Block, District and State level. Winners from each School participate at the Block level. Winners of Block level participate at District level Competition. Two winners from each District participate in State/UT level contest and only one winner from each State/Union Territory is eligible for National level Competition.

This year the topic of the National Science Seminar(NSS) – 2018 is ‘Industrial Revolution (IR) 4.0: Are we prepared?’ ‘औद्योगिक क्रांति (औ.क्रां.) 4.0 : क्या हम तैयार है ?’ and it will be held at Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum, Bangalore on 5th October 2018. 

Objective:
• To inculcate in the minds of young students a spirit of scientific inquiry and analytical thinking
• To provide a platform to the budding scientists for exchanging ideas
• To nurture a feeling of national integration among young talents from every corner of the country

National Science Seminar 2018 in Schools

TOPIC – The topic for the National Science Seminar is “Industrial Revolution (IR) 4.0: Are we Prepared?”
LANGUAGE: English, Hindi or any recognized Indian language

National Level Science Seminar 2018: 05-10-2018

DURATION OF PRESENTATION
The participant shall make his/her presentation on the given topic for a maximum duration of 6 minutes. This will be followed by a 2 minute question-answer session with the judges on the same topic. Each participant will be asked 3 questions by the judges and the participant should answer any 2 of them within 2 minutes.

SUPPORTING VISUALS
Posters, charts or computer based static slides (compatible to Windows M.S. Office 2016 or lower in .ppsx or .pptx , .ppt, .pps format), restricted to 5 nos. altogether. 3D models, animations, pop-ups, rollovers, videos & films in any form are not allowed.

GRADING
• Scientific content in the presentation : 40 marks
• The novelty in the use of visuals:15 marks
• Fluency in speech: 25 marks
• Ability to answer questions
A. Written test: 10 marks
B. Oral test: 10 marks

ELIGIBILITY
• Students from class VIII to X.
• The first prize winner from each State/Union Territory will be eligible to participate in National Science Seminar to be held at Birla Industrial and Technological Museum, Kolkata, West Bengal

SCHOLARSHIPS
(Tenable for one year)
* Winner: 2000/- p.m.
* Special Prizes (9): Z- 1000/- p.m.
