NSD National Science Day 2022 Celebrations & Activities in TS Schools. SCERT Telangana has given proceedings to conduct the National Science day Celebrations on February 28 in all the TS Schools. Suggested activities have been provided for conducting in Schools.
The theme selected for this year 2022 is – Future of STI- Impacts on education, skills & work. National Science Day is celebrated to mark the anniversary of the ‘Ramen Effect’. The 1930 Nobel Prize winner gave the theory of Raman Effect- when light traverses a transparent material, some of the deflected light changes wavelength and amplitude.
National Science Day 2021 Theme: This theme Future of STI- Impacts on education, skills & work has been chosen for the purpose of raising public appreciation of the scientific issues involved and the impacts science has on education, skill and work. The theme itself generates energy and encourages the youth for a future with education, skills, and work in science.
Every year the day is celebrated to raise awareness on the importance of science that has in our daily lives. The colleges and science institutes across the country celebrate the day by organizing public speeches, lectures and science model exhibitions, science movies, science exhibitions on themes and concepts, debates, quiz competitions.
Apart from this, students also demonstrates various science projects and innovations across the country. The government also felicitates scientists who contributed greatly to the field of science.

NSD is celebrated every year on 28 February to commemorate the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect.’ The Government of India designated 28 February as National Science Day (NSD) in 1986. On this day, Sir C.V. Raman announced the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’ for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1930. On this occasion, theme-based science communication activities are carried out all over the country.
All the District Educational Officers shall take necessary actions to celebrate National Science day on 28th February in all the schools in their respective districts with the following suggested activities. All the Principals of IASEs, CTEs and DIETs in the State will take necessary actions to celebrate National Science day on 28th February in IASEs, DIETs and CTEs in the State.
All the Headmasters of High schools and UP schools and Mandal Educational Officers of Mandals in the district would to conduct the Competitions in connection with the National Science Day on 28th February and Conduct various activities at school level, conduct science talent competitions organized by Forum for physical science and also encourage students to participate in science expo conducted by NIT-WARANGAL.

Instructions to MEOs and Principals in the district on National Science Day:
- Every Primary, UPS and High School must conduct the National Science Day on February 28th.
- Doing small, small experiments by students and Increase the interest and passion of science among students.
- Science Day should not be held only with essay and lecture competitions on this day
- Science Day should be held also in every primary school
- Details and photos of the Science Day program conducted in the school should be sent to the Mandal Office immediately through CRPs.
- Maintenance of science experiments should not be limited to Science Day.
- Science Experiments should be conducted every on behalf of Science Day

National Science Day Activities in Telugu
National Science Day 2020 Theme: The theme of NSD 2020 is ‘Women in Science.’ NSD Theme has been chosen for the purpose of increasing public appreciation of the scientific issues involved. Celebrations of important Scientific Days with associated events bring scientific awareness in the community. Many institutions organize an open house for their laboratories and appraise students about career opportunities available in a particular research laboratory/institution.
National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science and Technology (DST) acts as a nodal agency to support, catalyze and coordinate the celebration of the National Science Day throughout the country in scientific institutions, research laboratories and autonomous scientific institutions associated with the Department of Science and Technology.
NCSTC has supported various programs countrywide by supporting its State S&T Councils & Departments for the organization of lectures, quizzes, open houses, etc. DST instituted National Awards for Science Popularization in February 1987 to stimulate, encourage, and recognize outstanding efforts in the area of science and technology for popularization, communication, and promoting scientific temper. These awards are presented every year on National Science Day.
