What is NTET 2025?
The National Teachers’ Eligibility Test (NTET) 2025 is a standardized assessment conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the Ministry of AYUSH, the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), and the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH).
Its primary mission is to improve equity and quality in education by administering research-based, valid, reliable, efficient, transparent, and fair assessments.
This test aims to assess various critical skills essential for teaching, including:

Eligibility Criteria: Are You Qualified?
To be eligible for NTET 2025, candidates must hold a postgraduate degree in a discipline recognized by the Commissions or the erstwhile Central Council for Indian System of Medicine/Central Council of Homoeopathy.
General Eligibility Requirements: Post-graduate degree students in Indian System of Medicine who have completed thirty months of their program are eligible.
Candidates with a recognized postgraduate degree in the Homoeopathic system of Medicine are eligible.
The degree must be included/recognized under the Second Schedule of the IMCC Act, 1979 or Section 35 of the NCISM Act, 2020.
Specific Educational Qualifications: The notification details specific Bachelor’s (BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, BHMS) and Master’s (MD Ayurveda, MS Ayurveda, MD Siddha, MD Unani, MD (Hom.), M.Sc. Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, MPH, MA Tamil/English/Urdu/Arabic, M.Sc. Botany/Medical Botany/Pharmacognosy) degree combinations required for various disciplines within Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, and Homoeopathy.
For Assistant Professor: A minimum of fifty percent marks is required to qualify.
Master of Science (M.Sc.) degrees in Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, or Master of Public Health from recognized institutes, along with a Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) degree, make candidates eligible for Assistant Professor roles.
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) holders with M.Sc. in relevant subjects are also eligible for Assistant Professor.
For Associate Professor (First Time): Candidates need five years of regular service experience (after postgraduate qualification) in Central/State Government Health Services or Ministry of Ayush.
Alternatively, five years of full-time research experience in Central/State Government Research Councils or Universities/National Institutions with at least three publications in indexed/peer-reviewed journals is also accepted.
Qualifying Percentage: A candidate must secure a minimum of fifty percent (50%) and above to be declared qualified in NTET 2025.
Examination Pattern and Syllabus
The NTET 2025 will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only. Exam Structure as follows
Type of Questions: Objective type, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
Number of Questions: 100 questions.
Maximum Marks: 100 marks.
Marking Scheme: Each question carries 1 mark. There will be NO NEGATIVE MARKING. Unanswered/un-attempted questions will receive no marks.
Duration: 120 minutes (2 hours). Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour is provided for eligible PwD/PwBD candidates.
Medium: The question paper will be available in English & Hindi. The English version will be considered final in case of any ambiguity.
