An all India Painting Competition is being organized by HPCL on the theme “Green and Clean Energy” from 18th January to 10th February, 2023. You all are invited to take part and make it successful. Participate to win Exciting Prizes.
Any Indian National, residing in India can participate under following categories – Age : (i) 0-12 Years, (ii) >12-21 Years (iii) > 21 Years. Candidates or students logon to http://www.sakshampaintingcontest.com for more information and submitting your entries online post registering.
In order to promote the core theme of Saksham 2023, All India painting contest is being organized for people belonging to all strata of the society encouraging them to focus on energy conservation and environment protection. Details of the contest is provided below.
How to Participate in Saksham Painting Competition 2023
The Saksham Painting contest is being conducted in online mode. Following shall be the steps:
- Participant will register for the event in online painting contest portal – www.sakshampaintingcontest.com
- Participant will then create physical painting (canvas/paper painting etc.) on the theme provided below. Painting size and medium are also provided below.
- Participant will then capture digital image of the painting and upload it in online portal along with relevant details.
- Submitted entries will be evaluated by a professional jury and post completion of the contest, top entries shortlisted by the jury will be announced.
- Shortlisted entries will be required to be submitted in physical form to HPCL, HQO Mumbai office at a later point of time. Details of the same will be shared subsequently with the shortlisted participants.
Who are eligible to participate:
The participant is an Indian Nationals residing in India. Participants can participate in the following categories.
- a. Children – Age below 12 years as on 01.01.2023
- b. Youth – Age between 12 to 21 years as on 01.01.2023
- c. Adults – Age above 21 years as on 01.01.2023
Saksham Painting Competition theme and theme areas:
a) Theme: Paintings should be created in the theme of ‘Green and Clean Energy’.
b) Theme areas: The following indicative areas within the main theme of ‘Green and Clean Energy’ can be considered by participants for making the painting.
- Energy Conservation
- Environment and nature protection
- Energy Independent India
Saksham Painting Medium:
Entries on the above theme should be created in any of the following mediums.
- Water Color (using water colors)
- Oil Painting (using oil paint)
- Acrylic Painting (using acrylic paint)
- Pastel Color Painting (using pastel sticks)
Note: Participants can submit their entry in “Digital Painting” medium also. However, it will be evaluated independently from above painting mediums.
Size of Paining: Actual size of the painting should be in any one of the sizes provided below. Paintings submitted in any other size apart from the below mentioned sizes shall not be accepted.
(a) 12 inch (height) x 18 inch (width)
(b) 18 inch (height) x 24 inch (width)
(c) 24 inch (height) x 24 inch (width)
(d) 24 inch (height) x 30 inch (width)
How to Submit Painting under Saksham Painting Competition?
- Participants are required to create painting on the above theme.
- Once the painting is complete, participant has to click a high resolution digital image of the painting.
- Size of the digital image should be less than 25 MB.
- Thereafter, participant have to log in to the online website by using their email id and password.
- New users can register themselves using the “Sign Up” button and 6 then login to the website.
- Upon login, user has to click the ‘Upload Photo’ button for submitting the digital image of the painting.
- The image has to be submitted along with the below details:
- (a) Participant Name
- (b) Title of painting
- (c) Size of painting
- (d) Category
- (e) Painting Medium
- (f) Story depicting the painting (3-4 lines)
Painting Competition Evaluation: “Work Selection” Submitted digital images will be evaluated by an external Jury and top works/entries shall be shortlisted for the final round.
Painting Competition Result: “Award Selection” Shortlisted paintings in the physical form are then required to be submitted by the respective participants to HPCL, HQO, Petroleum House office. These entries will be judged by an external Jury and winners will be selected and awarded.
Painting Competition Submission Rules and Guidelines:
Participants are the sole owner and author of your Entry & You have the right to make your entry available to the Competition and also to which the entrant holds all applicable rights.
Works that have won prizes in other contests or that have been submitted to other contests currently underway, including similar works, are not eligible. Works that are entered in other competitions after submitting to this contest will be deemed as those having been submitted to other contests currently underway.
Paintings should created in physical media (Oil/ Watercolor/ Pastel/ Acrylic etc.) except digital paintings. The painting should be original and should be signed by the participant. Signature should be clearly visible.
The submitted entry should not be a copy of another artwork. If at any stage of the competition, it is revealed that the entry submitted is a copy of an existing artwork, the entry will not be considered for further evaluation. Only one entry per participant will be allowed for submission and further evaluation.

Entries submitted post the last date will not be accepted and nomination shall stand cancelled.
PCRA Painting Competition 2023 for School Children
PCRA Saksham National Level Painting Competition for School Children: Petroleum Conservation Research Association, under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India, is committed to making oil conservation a National Movement. As a part of its mandate, various literary and cultural events are conducted for school students.
The Essay writing, Painting and Quiz competitions aim to raise awareness among youth about practical conservation tips for the conservation of Petroleum products in industrial, transportation, agriculture and domestic sectors, and how to practice such conservation in their daily lives.
For effective communication, students may choose to present their ideas and messages for conserving petroleum products and reducing emissions, in English, Hindi or Regional languages.
Every year, four Competitions are being conducted by PCRA
C: Quiz for selecting school District, State, and Zonal teams. Zonal teams shall participate for National Finals.
D: Individual Quiz for achieving Bronze, Silver or Gold Level.

B Painting Competition Instructions
Only schools in India recognized by Central & State Boards of India, ran participate. It is mandatory for the Schools to conduct the competition during school hours in a fair manner (Principal’s certificate is mandatory).
Eligibility: Two categories: (a) Students of classes 5 – 7 (Junior) and (b) Students of classes 8 – 10 (Senior)
School can conduct competitions in any one or both the categories. However, a minimum of 30 students must participate in each category in which the school submits its entry.
Use only A3 size art sheet. The work may be executed using pencils, pencil colours, crayons, water colours etc. Use of Collage/Patchwork is not permitted in the paintings at all levels of competition.
Painting Competition Topic: One Step Towards Green & Clean Energy एक कदम हरत एव वछ ऊजा की ओर
Time Limit: 2 Hours and School is required to evaluate the entries for each category, and upload best two entries in each category (Junior/Senior), in which the competition has been conducted at the school, on www.pcracompetitions.org. For more details, please refer to this portal.
Competition Period: 04 Jan to 10 Feb. Last entry on or before 10 Feb
The topic of painting competition may be displayed prominently, at least a week in advance. Schools to advise students to prepare in advance for the scheduled competition. This shall enable the participants to obtain relevant information from various sources. This exercise is focused on increasing awareness in young minds for the National cause of Conservation of Fuel and Environment protection.
It is advisable that the documentary on PCRA, which gives a brief on ‘Conservation of Fuel’ is shown to the children before the start of the competition. This is available on our website www.pcra.org
The students whose paintings are adjudged in the best 100 paintings in each category, on All India basis, will be invited to participate in a National Final round at Delhi. PCRA shall bear the expenses of travel, and the best 100 in each category shall be advised on the same.

The decision of the Jury/Expert committee appointed by PCRA will be final and binding in respect of all matters concerning the competition. Plagiarism may lead to cancellation of entry. The entries submitted would be the sole property of PCRA, with right to use and right to edit for any purpose it considers appropriate.
Children of employees of PCRA are not eligible for the prizes. Schools should try to hold the competitions and complete the evaluation as early as possible to avoid last minute rush in submission.
Kindly conduct the competitions at the earliest preferably in the Telugu language. so as to increase the maximum participation.
