Role Play Competitions in TS Schools 2023 at District, State, National Level

Role Play Competitions in TS Schools 2023: Role Play Competitions would be conducted at the District level in Telangana State.  As per the Plan of Action 2022-23 of Population education Programme, the NPEP, NCERT office has decided to conduct Role Play Competitions to the students of classes VIII and IX of Government/ Panchayat all Municipal/ Aided/KGBV Schools at District Level by 30 September 2019. The details of the programmes are as follows.

The District Educational Officer of Mahabubnagar, Ranga Reddy, Medchal, Vikarabad, Medak, Sangareddy, Kamareddy, Rajanna Sircilla), jagityal, Warangal Urban, Warangal Rural, Mahabubabad, Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem Suryapet, Yadadri Bhongir and Narayanpet Are informed that as per the Plan of Action 2019-20 of Population education Programme, the office has decided to conduct Role Play Competitions to the students of classes VIII and IX of Government/ Panchayat all Municipal/ Aided/KGBV Schools at District Level by 30 September 2019. The details of the programmes are as follows

Role Play: An amount of Rs.8,500/-has been allocated to conduct the above competitions in each district and the same is being transferred through online to the concerned DEOs saving bank accounts. The budget split-up is as follows for Role Play Competitions

The guidelines for conducting of aforesaid Role Play Competitions is enclosed. Therefore, the DEOs are requested to conduct the above competitions in districts the schedule and send 1 prize winners in Role Play to participate in the State of competitions. Further, they are requested to furnish the following information at District level in each event-wise after conducting the competitions.

d. Name of the 2nd Prize Winners at the district
e. Name of the 3rd Prize Winners at the district

All the first prize winners at the District Level would participate in the State Level Competitions. The dates and venue for the State Level competitions will be informed later

GUIDELINES FOR CONDUCTING OF ROLE PLAY COMPETITIONS:

1. First Prize winners: The First Prize winners will be participating in State Level Competitions.  
2. Themes: The Themes for the Role Playa. Nutritious food and well being. b. Personal safety (Physical, mental, emotional and sexual). c. Safe use of internet, gadgets and media literacy. d. Substance abuse and its causes and prevention.  
3. Target groups a. Class VIII and IX students studying in Government/ Panchayat Raj/ Municipal/ Aided/ KGBV Schools. b. 4 or 5 students, boys/ girls should participate in a Role Play.  
4. Costumes a. The students perform in their school uniforms only. Roleplay should be conducted without a costume.  
5. Time a. Each team would be given 5 to 6 minutes time for Role Play at every level.  
6. Language a. The language will be either in Telugu or in English. b. The team which is selected for National Level will be performing it in English or Hindi.  
7. Judges – District Level a. DIET Principal/ DEO b. One Headmaster/ Principal from non-participating school c. A person having a background in performing art

– The healthy relationship among adolescents
– Charms and challenges of adolescents
– HIV-AIDS: Stigmatisation and vulnerability of adolescents
– Cause and impact of drug abuse
3. Target groups
– Class VIII and IX students studying in Government/ Panchayat Raj/ Municipal/ Aided Schools
– The students perform in their school uniforms only. Roleplay should be conducted without a costume.
– 4 or 5 students, boys/ girls should participate in a Role Play.
4. Time
– Each team would be given 6 to 8 minutes time for Role Play at every level.
5. Language
– The language will be either in Telugu or in English.
– The team which is selected for National Level will be performing it in English or Hindi.

GUIDELINES FOR CONDUCTING OF FOLK DANCE COMPETITIONS:
Role Play Competitions in TS Schools

1. The First Prize winners will be participating in National Level Competitions.
2. The Themes for the Folk Dance
– Equal opportunities for boys and girls: Removal of female feticide
– Respect and care for elders x Protection of environment x Drug abuse
– Charms and challenges of adolescents
Above themes will be elaborated by the folk dancers.
3. Target groups
– Class VIII and IX students studying in Government/ Panchayat Raj/ Municipal/ Aided Schools
– The students shall perform with costumes.
– 4 to 6 students, boys/ girls should participate in a Folk Dance.
4. Time
– Each team would be given 8 to 10 minutes time for Folk Dance at every level.
5. Language
– The language of Folk Dance will be the local language.
– The team which is selected for National Level will be performing it in English or Hindi.

Order:
All the Principals of DIETs in the state are informed that as per the Plan of Action 2015-16, the Population Education Cell of this office has proposed to conduct Folk Dance Role Play Competitions for the students of classes VIII & IX of Government, Panchayat Raj, Municipal and Aided Schools on or before 31st October 2015 at all the DIETs in the state.

The details of the programmes are as follows.
(i) The number of participants should be 4-5 numbers of classes VIII & IX of each school mentioned above.
(ii) Duration of time:: 6-8 minutes
(iii) The students, who participated in Role Play Competitions, should not participate in the Folk Dance Competition and vice versa. (One student should participate only one competition only).

The amount sanctioned for each event is Rs 8,500/-. i.e, 17,000/- transferred through online mode

The total amount for the conduct of Folk Dance & Role Play is Rs. 8,500/- x 2 = Rs. 17,000/-   The guidelines sent by NPEP, NCERT for conducting these two activities are herewith enclosed. The State level programme will be conducted immediately after the receipt of your reports. The Principals are requested to conduct the activities as per the schedule and see that our State would reach the National Level.   

All the first prize winners at the district level will participate in the State level Competition which will be organized ay Hyderabad. The venue and date for the State level will be informed.  Therefore all the Principals of the DIETs in the state are requested to conduct the Folk Dance & Role Play Competitions and organization of Poster Competitions as per the schedule and submit a list of prize winners to this office immediately so as to enable the department to submit the details to NCERT, New Delhi.   

The detailed expenditure particulars along with original bills/vouchers should be submitted to this office within a week after completion of the above programmes along with documentation, so that following activity will be taken up at State Level.

Telangana State Level Role Play and Folk Dance Competitions:  
To All the Principals of DIETs in the State Copy to the District Educational Officers in the State. All the Principals of DIETs in the state are informed that as per the Plan of Action 2015-16, the Population Education Cell of this office has proposed to conduct Folk Dance & Roll Play Competitions at State level for all the 1st prize winners at the District level Competitions. The details of the programme are as follows.

Role Play 
1. No. of participants is up to 4 to 5 members of class 8th & 9th class.
2. Duration of the time 6 to 8 minutes

Folk Dance 
3. No. of participants is up to 4 to 6 members of class 8th & 9th class.
4. Duration of the time 8 to 10 minutes.
5. The students, who participated in Roll Play Competition, should not participate in the Folk Dance Competition and vice versa (one student should participate in one competition only).

Therefore all the Principals of the DIETs in the state are requested to send 1st prize winner team of Role Play on 16 Sep at 10.00 A.Mat St. Anns Consulate, Tarnaka, Hyderabad and 1st prize winner team of Folk Dance on 17 Sep at 10.00 A.M at St. Anns Consulate, Tarnaka, Hyderabad of their respective district without fail.
