SSC Junior Engineers(JE) Recruitment 2020, Vacancy Details: The Staff Selection Commission has released the vacancy details for the ongoing SSC JE recruitment. According to a statement posted on the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) website, the Commission will be recruiting posts through the JE recruitment its online application process began in the first week of February. The SSC will be hiring Junior Engineers in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Quantity Surveying and Contract trades through the recruitment process. Out of the total vacancies announced today, 1,313 Junior Engineers will be recruited to the Civil Engineering cadre while rest of the vacancies will be distributed among other posts. The SSC JE recruitment registration process will be held till September 12, 2020. The Computer-Based Test for paper 1 will be held in September, according to the official notification.
The SSC JE recruitment notification released in January became the first major recruitment by a Central Government agency carrying the reservation benefits for recently announced 10 per cent quota for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) from the general category.
“Reservation for Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Other Backward Classes (OBC)/ Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Persons with Disability (PwD) etc would be as determined and communicated by the Indenting Ministries/ Departments/ Offices, as per extant Government Orders,” said the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Junior Engineer (JE) notification.
The Staff Selection Commission, SSC has issued a notification for junior engineers (civil, mechanical, electrical and quantity surveying and contract) recruitment examination 2020 on its official website. The application process for the examination will continue until September 12, 2020. Candidates should opt only for posts for which they have the qualification and are within the prescribed age limits.
Online fee can be paid by the candidates up to 27-02- 2020 (05.00 PM). However, candidates who wish to make the payment through challan of SBI, may make the payment in cash at the designated branches of SBI within the working hours of bank up to September 12, 2020 provided the challan has been generated by them before September 11, 2020 (05.00 PM).

The process of filling online application for the examination consists of two parts:
Part 1: One-time Registration.
Part 2: Filling online Application for the Examination.
Part 1: One-time Registration: For One-time Registration, click on ‘Register Now’ link provided in ‘Login’ Section on https://ssc.nic.in. One-time Registration process requires filling up of following information:
a. Basic Details
b. Additional Details and Contact Details
c. Uploading of the scanned images of passport size photograph and signature.
Candidates are advised that name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, matriculation examination detail should be filled exactly as recorded in matriculation certificate. Your candidature may get cancelled in case of incorrect/ wrong information.
Part 2: Filling online Application for the Examination:

Step 1: Login to online system through your Registration Number and password.
Step 2: Click ‘Apply’ link in ‘Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Quantity Surveying & Contracts) Examination 2020’ Section under ‘Latest Notifications’ tab.
Step 3: Your Photo and Signature will be automatically fetched from the One-time Registration Data.
Step 4: Preview and verify the information provided by you and submit the Application
When application is successfully submitted, it will be accepted ‘Provisionally’. Candidates must take printout of the application form for their own records. Normally, printout of the ‘Application Form’ is not required to be submitted to the Commission at any stage. However, if there is any discrepancy in the data, copy of the printout may be demanded by the Commission.
Candidates Eligible for the post can visit the official website of the commission to apply on or before September 12, 2020. They are required to pay a fee amount of Rs 100. The fee amount can be paid through BHIM UOI, Net Banking or Visa, Masterard, Maestro, RuPay credit or Debit Card. Candidates can also pay fee through cash at SBI Braches by generating SBI Challan.Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled castes, Scheduled Tribes, Persons with disabilities and Ex-Servicemen who are eligible for reservation are exepted from fee payment.
SSC Junior Engineers(JE) Recruitment Exam Dates:
The computer-based objective type examination (Paper 1) for these posts will be held from as per its schedul. The Paper II (written examination) will be held on notified date. The number of vacancies will be determined in the due course. It should be noted the examination is being held to recruit both male and female candidates but only male candidates are eligible for the posts of Junior Engineers in Border Roads Organisation (BRO).
As Junior Engineer is a Group B post, there is no reservation for the ex-Servicemen category. However, the benefit of age relaxation will be admissible to ex-Servicemen candidates, as per extant Govt. Orders. SSC JE Recruitment 2020: Eligibility Criteria
Based on the post applied for, candidate should either have a degree or a diploma in a relevant branch of engineering. Candidates are advised to go through the eligibility requirement section first in the official advertisement and then begin the application process.
Certain posts advertised in this recruitment also require a candidate to have work experience.
SSC JE Recruitment 2020: Age Limit
Upper age limit for posts in Department of Posts is 27 years. Upper age limit for posts in Central Water Commission, and Central Public Works Department is 32 years. Upper age limit for posts in all other departments is 30 years. Candidates should refer to the official advertisement for age relaxation norms.
The application fee to apply for the recruitment exam is Rs 100/-. The application fees can be paid both online and offline mode. The examination will be conducted in two phases- Paper I will have 200 marks questions and Paper II will have 300 marks question. Scheme of examination
The Paper 1 exam will be of 200 marks, two hours duration and of objective nature. The candidates will get questions of 50 marks on general intelligence and reasoning, 50 marks on general awareness and 100 marks on general engineering (civil and structural) or general engineering (electrical) or general engineering (mechanical).
In the general engineering section, candidates will be required to attempt only the part as opted by them during filling of the application form. Candidates will lose 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates who clear the computer-based examination (Paper-I) will be called for the conventional type or written examination (Paper-II). Candidates will be shortlisted and recommended for appointment on the basis of their total marks in the Paper I and II and their preference for the posts.
