Maths Seminar 2022 on occasion of Mathematics day. TS SCERT is going to organize a one-day Mathematics e-Seminar on “Mathematics Education – the way ahead in the context of NEP 2020” on 22nd December 2020
Guidelines have been released on One Day State level e-Seminar on the Mathematics Education – the way ahead in the context of NEP 2020 on 22-12-2020 on the birthday of Sri. Srinivasa Ramanujan, i.e., Mathematics day on 22nd December.
SCERT Telangana being the State Academic Authority of School Education Department, as part of its functions, conducts seminars every year on the current issues and challenges related to education.
The main purpose of conducting these seminars is to inspire and motivate teachers to keep themselves abreast of the latest developments in the areas of education and make their teaching qualitatively high and contextually relevant.

In the same tradition, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Indian Mathematics genius, Srinivasa Ramanujan, on the occasion of National Mathematics Day, the Department of Mathematics and Science, SCERT is organizing e-seminar on Mathematics education on 22 December.
One of the main criticisms faced by teachers is that there is a significant gap between what is expected from them and what they are able to actualize in schools.
To overcome it, teachers have to keep thinking and trying new and effective strategies of teaching. It is hoped that, this seminar will act as a platform for them to share their experiences in teaching learning process and eventually help in making their teaching more purposeful.

Mathematics Education – the way ahead in the context of NEP 2020
Maths Seminar Sub theme:
- Reforms in Mathematics curriculum of School Education to enable our students to be on par with global students in terms of standards.
- Reforms in Pedagogical practices of Mathematics to make its teaching more interesting, effective and of application value.
- Challenges being faced in teaching Mathematics in remote / online mode and ways to overcome them.
- “Vedic Mathematics” – its relevance in teaching current mathematics curriculum in schools.

Write up: Papers are invited From Mathematics Teachers, Teacher Educators, Researchers and the field functionaries working in the areas of School and Teacher Education.

Plagiarism Alert (Copy from others) : Paper presenters are requested to adhere to strict academic ethics with respect to the acknowledgement of the original ideas from other sources.

Paper presenters should not use information from other sources. Educational ethics must be adhered to with respect to the acceptance of original ideas. Each paper is examined by a screening committee. Papers that do not meet ethical standards will be rejected

Previous Maths Seminar Details
The SCERT, Telangana was organized a State Level Mathematics Seminar on ‘Teaching of Mathematics for 21st Century‘ to teacher educators/ teachers and other field functionaries of School Education on December 22 at Regional Science Centre, Warangal
The paper presenters may be instructed to prepare the PPT to highlight the contents of their paper and shall be handed over to seminar organizers in the form of soft copy and also requested to send the soft copies of the PPT to the mail ID tgscertmathsscience@gmail.com.
The presenters should not exceed 10 minutes of presentation and 2 min for interaction. The total time allotted for each presentation is a maximum of 12 minutes.
The TA/DA for the presenters will be borne by SCERT as per TSTA norms. The selected teachers/teacher educators of state-level Mathematics Seminar are annexed with this order.

“TEACHING OF MATHEMATICS FOR 21st CENTURY”
The District Educational Officers are requested to take the initiative to disseminate the information to all the schools in the District and encourage the Mathematics Teachers to send the write-ups in the prescribed format within the stipulated time. In this connection, a press note may be issued at the District level for wider dissemination of conduct of State Level Seminar.
The principals of IASEs, CTEs and DIETs and Private D.Ed., B.Ed. Colleges are requested to take initiative in sending the write-ups in the prescribed format in stipulated time by the Teacher Educators.
Further, they are also requested to communicate the proceedings of the SCERT to the private Teacher Education colleges (B.Ed. and D.Ed.) in their respective Districts to send the write-ups to the SCERT within the stipulated time.
Further, they are informed that after screening of write-ups only, selected candidates will be invited to give their presentation on 22nd December at State level. The T.A & DA for the selected participants will be borne by SCERT as per TSTA norms.

The Sub-themes identified for the seminar is as follows:
• Development of problem posing, problem solving and creativity through Mathematics.
• Role of mathematics in changing world.
• Role of Mathematics in development of Affective Domain (Interest, values, curiosity, attitudes, appreciation )
