T State Govt. nod for SSC Exam Reforms: The goal to implement CCE in X and IX classes. The SCERT had taken up exams reforms following GO 60 issued in 2013 for implementation of the CCE. Accordingly the text books were revised and examination pattern was also redesigned.
In new pattern 20 percent marks for internal assessment that is formative assessment and 80 percent marks for external assessment. The FA based on parameters like story books, children literature, newspapers and reflecting in terms of writing and presentation in the class room for language subjects; experiments and record books for science, project work, slip test etc.
The Director of SCERT has submitted proposals for the revised evaluation process and scheme of examination for Class IX and X and Stated that The proposed examinations reforms will facilitate for a shift in the teaching learning process and improved transaction of new textbooks and transforms the ways of learning with activities, projects, dialogue and discussions, experiments etc.

The Telangana State government finally has approved the 10th class examination reforms. In this regarding Telangana State education minister has signed on this file on Saturday and related orders will be released today onwards. The examination reforms include Class IX as well and they would be implemented from this academic year i.e 2014-15.
The 11 papers exam system( old method) will be implemented from this academic year. Permitting private candidates in the 10th class examinations will be done way with from this academic year. Those students can appear privately under the Open School System, which is treated equivalent to Secondary School Certificate (SSC).
The entire focus of reforms is to encourage students to think creatively and critically rather than reproducing the answers learnt in class. So students can’t expect given at the end of lessons, guides or questions form previous exam papers. Question papers will be designed in such a way that they have to study lesson, under stand it and answer in their own words.
In this question paper format and introduction of 20 percent internal marks for extra-curricular activities. The 20 percent internal marks will also reflect in the 10th class memo with separate grades.
The memo will have grades for Health and Physical Education; Art and Culture Education, Work Experience Education and Computer Education, and Value Education and Life Skills will be evaluated by the teachers periodically.
The Sumative examinations which are school based for Class IX and The Final summative is public exams as class X conducted by Director, Government Examinations.
The average of 4 FAs conducted in an academic year will be accounted for 20 percent of marks i.e., the average of of 4 FAs will be taken and accounted for 20% of marks in Class X Public Exams.
Three Summative tests will be conducted in each academic year for class IX and X. In case of Class X, public examination will be in place of third Summative test to be conducted by the BSE Telangana.
Earlier, the SCERT suggested that students need to pass separately, scoring minimum 7 marks in internal evaluation and 28 marks in the external examination for the total 35 passing marks but that has been withdrawn now. Combined score 35 will be taken irrespective of the scores each section.
The examination reforms will have to be implemented in all the secondary school in the Telangana State i.e government, government aided, panchayatraj bodies, recognised private schools.
