Basara IIIT Admission 2021 notification has been released by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies – Basara on its official website https://www.rgukt.ac.in. Students who have qualified the TS POLYCET 2021 can check details and apply for TS RGUKT Admission at IIIT admission web portal https://www.admissions.rgukt.ac.in.

POLYCET for Basara IIIT Admission

This year, Telangana State Government has conducted a TS POLYCET for filling up the Integrated B.Tech seats in RGUKT Basara for the academic year 2021-2022 and Telangana POLYCET results have been released on its web portal. This POLYCET exam would be conducted for seeking admission into following courses.

  • Polytechnic Diploma Courses in SBTET Polytechnic Colleges,
  • Polytechnic Agriculture Diploma Courses in PJTSAU Polytechnic Colleges,
  • Polytechnic Veterinary Diploma Courses in PVNRTSVU Polytechnic Colleges and
  • 6 Year integrated B.Tech Courses RGUKT Basara for this as per the schedule.

RGUKT Basar IIIT Admission 2021

After announcement of TS POLYCET Results, Separate admission notification has been issued for admission into various B.Tech Courses offered by RGUKT Basara. Filling up of seats, admission and counseling procedure in respect of B.Tech Courses offered by RGUKT will be as per the norms of RGUKT and the counseling for the said courses will be conducted by RGUKT.

Detailed prospectus, seat position, and fee structure etc., would be placed on the University website www.rgukt.ac.in. Counseling would be conducted by Basara RGUKT through a admission notification to fill up the seats of B.Tech Courses of RGUKT based on the ranks obtained by the candidates in POLYCET 2021.

Eligibility for TS RGUKT Admission:

  • Candidates should have passed SSC (10th class) or any other equivalent examination recognized by the Governments of Telangana State & AP State and conducted in 2021 in first attempt.
  • Candidates from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh should have appeared TS POLYCET2021 for all category of seats except to Global category candidates.
  • Candidates should not have completed 18 years of age as on 31.12.2021, whereas candidate belonging to SC and ST categories the upper age limit is 21 years.
  • International students shall be of Indian Nationality / Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders.

RGUKT Basara Admission

At RGUKT Basara, admissions to 85% of the total available seats shall be reserved for the Local Candidates (Telangana State) and the remaining 15% of the seats shall be Unreserved (these seats will be filled with both the students of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh based on merit) as specified in the Presidential Order 371 Article D in consonance to Section 95 of the A.P. Reorganization Act, 2014.

Supernumerary seats to the extent of 5% are available under the Global Category for the students belonging to States other than Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and including the Children of Indians (all the States) working in Gulf Countries. The tuition fee for the Global Category is Rs.1,37,000/- per annum.

2% supernumerary seats are available for International / NRI students. The tuition fee is Rs.3,01,000/- per annum. Unfilled seats of Global Category (supernumerary) will be allocated to the local candidates (only for the TS) based on merit in TS POLYCET 2021 by paying Rs.1,37,000/- per annum.

The Candidates of Telangana State who wish to apply for the Unfilled seats of Global category, their application will also be considered in the General category of admissions. There will be 1500 seats in the university. IIIT Basra Admissions are based on POLYCET Entrance exam, you must apply for Polycet and write the entrance exam.

Application Fee

  • No fee for the candidates who have applied TS POLYCET 2021.
  • For the Global Category: Candidates belonging to other States and the Children of Indians (all the States) working in Gulf Countries (Refer 12.a) Rs.1000/-

Selection Method:

Admissions will be based on merit in the TS POLYCET 2021 marks obtained in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry by following the statutory reservations of the State. A deprivation score shall be added to the TS POLYCET 2021 Marks of those applicants who studied in non-residential Government Schools including the Zilla Parishad and Municipal Schools, with an objective of providing weightage to the socio economically challenged students in the admission process.

In case of a tie in marks, it will be resolved by adopting the following options in that sequence: a. Higher marks in Mathematics, b. Higher marks in Physics, c. Higher marks in Chemistry, d. Older candidate as per the Date of Birth, e. Lowest random number obtained from the 10th /SSC hall ticket number. If the tie is resolved with any of the check in the chronological order mentioned above, the next option(s) will not be checked.

BASARA IIIT Admission through TS PLOYCET2021:

  • Every year, six-year integrated BTech (Inter two years, BTech four years) seats are being filled annually based on 10th class grades.
  • Basra has a total of 1,500 seats.
  • Until 2019 the number of 10 GPA students did not exceed nine thousand.
  • Their number of 10 GPA has crossed 1.41 lakh as they were given grades in the tenth class based on internal exams last year.
  • As there are no final exams, academics opinion is that seats should not be given to real talents if they are filled in this GPA grading system.
  • Varsity officials decided to fill the seats on the basis of POLYCET for this one year only.

Considering the date of birth for admissions: If the grade is equal in the 10th class, then the date of birth is taken into account. If they are older, they can beat them. If the age is equal, the random number is entered by a special formula from the ten-hall ticket number.

Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) is an educational institution established with the lofty aim of providing high level quality education to rural students. It is located in Basara, Nirmal district in the state of Telangana. The institute has released the Admission Notification for the six-year Integrated BTech Program for the current academic year.

TIE Between 10.20 Grade Students: If there is a tie between 10.20 grade (considering a combined score of 0.40 for those studying in public schools), then the grade in mathematics will be considered in the tenth grade. Next, you are admitted to Science, English, Social Sciences, Telugu, Birth Date and Low Random Number.

RGUKT Telangana invites the applications from the eligible and interested students for admission to the first year of 6 Year Integrated B.Tech program at RGUKT – Basar (Telangana State) for the academic year 2020-2021.

The last date of applications for admissions into Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technologies (RGUKT) Basara would be at website. According to a press release, the date was extended to facilitate more candidates to apply for admissions into various courses offered by the institution.

The delay in announcement of Class X results also led to the extension. However, the last date for submitting the hard copies of applications remains the same. A total of 1,500 seats in various branches of engineering programmes are going to be filled from this academic year. Admissions will be based on GPA, grade obtained in each subject and by the statutory reservations of the State.

500 seats to RGUKT Basar, in addition to the existing 1000 seats for the Academic Year 2020-2021: All the aspirants of 6 Year Integrated B.Tech Program of RGUKT that the Government of Telangana State has accorded permission for an additional intake of 500 apart from the existing intake of 1000 after which the “approved intake” has now become 1,500.

So, Applications are invited for 1500 seats for admission to the first year of 6-Year Integrated B.Tech program at RGUKT Basar (Telangana State) for the academic year 2020-2021.

Eligibility: Regular students who passed SSC or its equivalent examination (10th class) held in 2021, in the first attempt. (a) Candidates should have passed SSC (10th class) or any other equivalent examination recognized by the Governments of Telangana State & AP State and conducted in 2020 in first attempt.

(b) Candidates should not have completed 18 years of age as on 31.12.2020, (21 years in case of students belonging to SC and ST categories). c) International students shall be of Indian Nationality / Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders.

Age limit: Students should have age, not more than 18 years as on 31.12.2021 (21 years in case of SC/ ST candidates).

Admissions Procedure: a) 10th class GPA Merit: Admissions to the first year of Integrated B Tech Program (2020-21) will be based on merit in the Grade Point Average (GPA) and Grade obtained in each subject in 10th class, and by following the statutory reservations of the State.

0.4 Score Shall be Added: A deprivation score of 0.4 prescribed by the Government for the year 2020-21 under Statute 13 (3) shall be added to the 10th class GPA of those applicants who studied in non-residential Government Schools including the ZillaParishad and Municipal Schools, with an objective of providing weightage to the socio economically challenged students in the admission process.

b) 85% Seats: At RGUKT, Basar, admissions to 85% of the total available seats shall be reserved for the Local Candidates (Osmania University area, Telangana State).

15% Seats: And the remaining 15% of the seats shall be un-reserved (these seats will be filled with both States Telangana and Andhra Pradesh students based on merit) as specified in the Presidential Order 371 Article D in consonance to Section 95 of the A.P. Reorganization Act, 2014.

Selection Procedure: Previous year, Admissions will be based on merit in the10th class Grade Point Average (GPA) and Grade obtained in each subject, and by following the statutory reservations of the State.

a) Admissions will be based on merit in the Grade Point Average (GPA) and Grade obtained in each subject, and as per the provisions of Presidential Order, 1974. A deprivation score of 0.4 prescribed by the Government for the year 2020-2021 under Statute 13 (3), shall be added to the 10th class GPA of applicants from non-residential Government Schools including the Zilla Parishad and Municipal Schools for selection, with an objective of providing weightage to help the students from socially, economically deprived sections of the society for admissions.

Note: As specified in the Presidential Order 371 Article D in consonance to Section 95 of the A.P. Reorganization Act, 2014, 15% of the total seats shall be reserved for both the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh students and selection to these 15% seats shall be done on merit basis.

The selection criteria for the applicants passed out from the Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh BSE-AP will be decided later, as per the admission rules of RGUKT-Basar, as BSE-AP has announced results without grades for its 10th Class students who appeared for SSC exams in March/April 2020.

b) In case of a tie in GPA score, it will be resolved by adopting the following options in that sequence:
i. higher grade in Mathematics,
ii. higher grade in General Science, iii. higher grade in English,
iv. higher grade in Social Studies,
v. Higher grade in 1st Language,
vi. the older candidate as per the Date of Birth,
vii. the lowest random number obtained from the hall ticket number.
If the tie is resolved with any of the check-ins the chronological order mentioned above, the next option(s) will not be checked.

c) The procedure of resolving by random number is as follows: For SSC, NIOS & OSSC applicants: The random number will be obtained as the reminder of {253 x [first 5 digits of the hall ticket number] divided by the last 5 digits of the hall ticket number}

For example, from the hall ticket no.1219121028, the first five digits viz., 12191 and the last five digits viz., 21028 will be considered for this purpose. The reminder is 14235.

For CBSE & ICSE applicants: The Hall ticket consists of seven digits. Hence, the random number will be obtained as the reminder of {253 x [first 3 digits of the hall ticket number] divided by the last 4 digits of the hall ticket number}.

For example, from the hall ticket no.4112605, the first three digits viz., 411 and the last four digits viz., 2605 will be considered for this purpose. The reminder is 2388.

Admissions Counseling: a) The candidates selected for counselling shall report in person at RGUKT – Basar, Nirmal District in Telangana State for verification of original certificates/documents and the details provided in the application form.

b) Counselling and selection for admission in respect of candidates belonging to the Special Categories like Physically Handicapped (PH), Children of Armed Personnel (CAP), NCC and Sports will be conducted at RGUKT- Basar.

IIIT Courses: Courses Offered in 6-Year Integrated B.Tech Program: The 6-Year Integrated Engineering course is divided into the following two categories:
a) Pre University Course (2 years): M.P.C course will be offered with the following subjects:
a. Mathematics b. Physics
c. Chemistry
d. English
e. Telugu / Sanskrit (Sanskrit will be offered for non-Telugu students those who have not studied the second language as Telugu)

b) B.Tech (4 years): Following streams will be offered
a. Chemical Engineering b. Civil Engineering
c. Computer Science & Engineering d. Electrical Electronics Engineering
e. Electronics & Communications Engineering
f. Metallurgical & Materials Engineering g. Mechanical Engineering

Admission: Admission to the first year of 6-Year Integrated Engineering course in the University will be granted only after satisfactory verification and scrutiny of the details mentioned in the application and the original certificates/ documents submitted by the candidate at the counselling center. Mere selection for counselling and verification of certificates/documents will not guarantee admission to the candidate.

Admissions: In Basara campus IIIT admissions will be according to 371D i.e., 85% of seats are reserved for TS students only and rest of 15% are for open category both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh students can have the choice for admissions according to the merit list.

Annual Fee:

a) The tuition fee for the candidates who studied in Schools situated in Telangana & Andhra Pradesh States is Rs.37,000/- per annum (It includes Rs.500/- examination fee per semester).

b) Students who are eligible for tuition fee reimbursement as per the guidelines issued by the respective State Governments need not pay the tuition fee (Students whose parental annual income is below Rs.1.0 lakh for non-SC/ST category and below Rs.2.0 lakh for SC/ST category and who fulfill the other conditions as per the latest Govt. rules are eligible for fee reimbursement).

c) Every student has to pay a registration fee of Rs.1,000/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST candidates) and a refundable caution deposit of Rs.2,000 (by all), and medical insurance of Rs. 500/- approximately per annum for first two years (by all), that is a total of Rs.3,500/- (Rs 3,000/- in case of SC/ST candidates) at the time of admission.

TS RGUKT BASAR IIIT Admissions Application Fee

Submission of online application involves the following two steps:

  • Application submission, and
  • Fee Payment.

Fee Payment for TS RGUKT Admission:

Payment through Debit / Credit Card / Net Banking:

  • Go through the User Guide carefully and be ready with all the required mandatory details specified in User Guide.
  • During the payment process don’t click the Back/Refresh buttons or don’t close the browser page abruptly.
  • Obtain a receipt after successful payment.
  • After submission of application form the Unique RGUKT Application ID (Ex: RGU2020TS..) will be generated for Fee Payment.

How to Apply: Applications shall be submitted online through Online mode only.

Other States and International Students

Admission of Students from other States and International Students: a) Supernumerary seats to the extent of 5% are available under the Global Category for the students belonging to States other than Telangana and including the Children of Indians (all the States) working in Gulf Countries. Admission will be on the basis of merit in the marks/grades obtained in the 10th standard examination. Those candidates who got a minimum of 70% of marks alone are eligible for admissions.

Note: Unfilled seats of Global Category (Left over seats of other state candidates) will be allocated to the local candidates (only for the TS) by paying Rs.1,37,000/- per annum. b) The tuition fee for students from other states and Children of Indians working in Gulf Countries is Rs.1,37,000/- per annum which includes tuition, examination, hostel, and mess fees and etc.

c) 2% supernumerary seats are available for International / NRI students.
d) The tuition fee for International / NRI students is Rs.3,01,000/- per annum.
e) Applicants from the Other States, Children of Indians working in Gulf Countries, International and NRI students seeking admission at RGUKT – Basar shall apply through www.admissions.rgukt.ac.in only.

f) The application fee for Children of Indians working in Gulf Countries (Global) is Rs. 250/-.
g) Applicants from International and NRI should pay the application fee through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Director, RGUKT, Basar and payable at any nationalized bank.

h) Lateral Entry Admissions in to 4-Year B.Tech Program is also available for International / NRI students. Admission will be on the basis of merit in the marks/grades obtained in the 12th standard examination. Those candidates who got a minimum of 70% of marks are eligible for admissions.

i) Branch allocation for the Lateral Entry admissions in to 4-Year B.Tech Program will be done for the branches mentioned (see 10(b) above) and allocation is done purely on basis of merit as per preferences opted by the student and subject to availability of seats.

Rules of Reservation

a) The admissions to 85% of the total available seats shall be reserved for the Local Candidates and the remaining 15% of the seats shall be un- reserved as specified in the Presidential Order 371 Article D and in consonance to Section 95 of the A.P. Reorganization Act, 2014 (see Annexure-1).

The rules of reservation for different categories for BASAR IIIT Admissions

iii. A horizontal reservation of 33 1/3 % of seats in favor of women candidates in each category (OC/SC/ST/BC/Special Categories) shall be ensured, wherever women candidates are available.

iv. In case of PH candidates, certificates issued by the State Medical Board alone are acceptable. For Sports and CAP categories, certificates issued by the respective District Boards are acceptable.

These reservations are applicable at State-level. Model proformas for certificates are given for all the above categories in Annexures.

v. Since the courses offered are technical in nature and require appropriate physical fitness, RGUKT reserves the right of rejecting the application of such candidates who are declared by the experts as physically unfit to pursue the course.
