While the Junior Research Fellowship amount has been increased from Rs 31,000 per month for two years to Rs 37,000 per month, the Senior Research Fellowship amount has been increased to Rs 42,000 per month for the remaining period from Rs 35,000.

The Savitribai Jyotirao Phule Fellowship for Single Girl Child fellowship has also been increased in the same manner. The JRF and SRF have been increased to Rs 37,000 and Rs 42,000 per month respectively.
The Dr DS Kothari Post Doctoral Fellowship (DSKPDF) amount for the higher postdoctoral fellowship has been increased to Rs 67,000 per month for the entire tenure from the existing Rs 54,000.
The post doctoral fellowship for one year now has been increased to Rs 58,000 per month, Rs 61,000 per month for second year and Rs 67,000 per month for the third year.
The percentage for calculating the house rent allowance (HRA), whenever applicable, will be based on the fellowship amount, the revised rates of fellowship will be applicable with effect from January 1, 2023.
HRA: The HRA at the revised rate of 8%, 16% and 24% is allowed as per Govt. of India norms as applicable in the city/location where the Research Fellow is pursuing research.
