UPSC ESE Preliminary Exam Result 2025 UPS ESE Prelims Result 2025, The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the results of the Indian Engineering Service (preliminary) examination on its official website.

The roll numbers of the shortlisted candidates are available on the list, which was released that can be opened by clicking the link here. Shortlisted candidates will have to appear in the main examination to be held on July 1st.

The commission will issue e-admit cards for the main exam to the shortlisted candidates around three weeks before it begins.

UPSC Declares Engineering Services Exam (Prelims) Result: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the preliminary exam result for the Indian Engineering Services Exam (ESE or IES).

The results declared discipline-wise are available on the official website, upsc.gov.in. Qualified candidates are now eligible for the UPSC ESE /IES  Main exam.

‘The Marks obtained in the Preliminary/Stage-I Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Main/Stage-II Examination will be counted for determining their final order of merit.

The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main/Stage-II Examination will be about six to seven times the total approximate number of vacancies to be filled in the year through this examination. Admit cards for the main exam will be available 21 days before the exam date.

Steps to Download UPSC ESE Prelims Result 2025

Union Public Service Commission has released the results of the UPSC Engineering Services Examination (UPSC ESE) Preliminary exam.

Candidates can find their result on the official website. upsc.gov.in. To download the result candidates can fallow the below given simple steps.

  • Registered candidates need to visit the official website, upsc.gov.in, on your device browser.
  • Click on the ‘latest’ tab on the homepage, and then click on the link ‘Result Engineering Services Preliminary Examination’.
  • Login using the registered registration Id or roll number.
  • The UPSC ESE Prelims result will be displayed. Download the result and keep a print out copy for further reference.

UPSC ESE Main Exam Pattern: The main exam will comprise two conventional-type papers in the respective discipline, carrying 300 marks. Each Candidate will be allowed three hours to complete the exam.

The question paper will be set in English only. After main exam candidates, twice the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for the personality test

The number of vacancies advertised under the Civil Services is 782, including 32 vacancies for candidates who fall under the Benchmark Disability category.

The preliminary exam for both the services will be conducted on 3 June. The last date to apply is 6 March.

The candidature of all candidates is provisional at all the stages of the exam – preliminary, main and the personality tests – subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.

UPSC conducts the engineering service examination at various centers across the country to fill up engineering positions in various central government departments.

On the basis of the result of the written part of the Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination, held by the Union Public Service Commission (U.P.S.C.) on 7th January, the candidates with the under-mentioned Roll Numbers have qualified for the Engineering Services (Main) Examination. The result is also available on the U.P.S.C.’s Website http://www.upsc.gov.in.

2. The candidature of these candidates is purely provisional at all the stages of the examination subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. The candidates declared qualified are required to appear in the Engineering Services (Main) Examination to be held on 1st July.

The qualified candidates are further advised to refer to the Rules of the Engineering Services Examination, issued by the Ministry of Railways, and the Examination Notice issued by the Commission, which is also available on its Website.

The candidates may download their e-admit cards from the Commission’s Website around 3 weeks before the commencement of the Engineering Services (Main) Examination.

Candidates are also informed that marks and cut-off marks of the Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination will be uploaded on the Commission website, i.e., www.upsc.gov.in, after the entire process of the Engineering Services Examination is over, i.e., after the declaration of the final result of the Engineering Services Examination.

No request for change of Centre/ discipline for Engineering Services (Main) Examination, will be entertained under any circumstances.
