The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) released the application forms for the Vellore Institute Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE 2022) at its official website, vit.ac.in. The VIT has started the registration process for VIT Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE) 2022. Candidates who want to apply for the entrance exam can register at viteee.vit.ac.in.
Candidates applying for undergraduate engineering admission in 2022 should have secured a minimum aggregate of 60 per cent in physics, chemistry, and mathematics/biology in the class 12 examination. The exam will be held for admissions to BTech courses offered by both campuses, VIT Vellore and VIT Chennai.
The Vellore Institute of Technology conducts the VIT engineering entrance exam (VITEEE) annually at a national level in a computer based test (CBT) mode. The candidates who crack this examination will get admission in UG engineering courses offered by the institute.
To apply, candidates must be 10+2 passed/appearing in 2022. The marks needed in 10+2 is 60 per cent aggregate in PCM / PCB. However, for the SC / ST candidates and candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir / Ladakh, North Eastern states – Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura – the minimum marks criteria is 50 per cent.

The candidates with math, physics, chemistry in 10+2 are eligible for all BTech specialisation. Other combinations apply to BTech Bio-engineering at VIT Bhopal, BTech Biotechnology in VIT Vellore, BTech CS with bioinformatics, BTech EC with biomedical in VIT Vellore.
The first step towards a successful preparation starts with a thorough analysis of the syllabus. The exam consists of subjects like maths, physics, chemistry, English, aptitude and biology. Thirty five questions are asked each from physics and chemistry, 40 from mathematics/biology, 5 from English and 10 from aptitude.
The question asked in the exam will be objective in nature and the candidate will require to mark one option out of 4 given. The language of the question paper will be only English. Each correct answer accounts for one mark while there will be no negative marking in the exam. The total duration of the exam will be 2 hours 30 minutes.
To prepare for VITEEE, candidates must do a smart study. For that candidates can use mock tests available for the exam online. This will help the candidates in getting an idea of the exam pattern. Reportedly, questions are often repeated from previous years in the VITEEE exam. Therefore, candidates preparing for the engineering entrance must refer to previous year papers and sample papers.

The candidates successful in the engineering entrance, get an opportunity to apply for admission in any of the four campuses of VITEEE- VIT Vellore, VIT Chennai, VIT Andhra-Pradesh and VIT Bhopal.
Education: Candidates appearing for or class 12 or those who have cleared plus two or equivalent level of education can apply.
Age limit: The candidates’ age below 21 can only apply.
Paper pattern: The syllabus for the VITEEE includes Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and English. The paper will have a total of 125 multiple choice questions. There will be no negative marking. Most of the questions will be from the State Board of Higher Secondary Education and the CBSE syllabus.
There will be questions on Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English. For both PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) and PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) you will get 40 questions per subject and five questions for English.
Those attempting PCM will be eligible for 20 Bachelor of Technology (BTech) courses. Those attempting PCB will be eligible for BTech Bio-Medical Engineering, BTech Biotechnology and BTech Computer Science programmes.
Application fee: The candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs.1,150, while for foreign nationals, the fee would be $50, excluding bank charges.

Candidates selected can take admission in BTech and BDes course in VIT Vellore, Chennai, Andhra Pradesh and Bhopal campuses.
Admission Process: The selection of candidates will based on the rank secured through online remote proctored examination. These students are called for online counseling based on their ranking. Eligible candidates may select a specific campus and programme during the counseling. Following payment of fees, Students will be notified about the online/in-person classes.
Rules for online exam: The applicant must be the sole occupant in the room; the appearance of other faces or persons during the examinations will be considered as malpractice. Applicant should use only system speaker. Wired / Wireless audio connection is prohibited. A 360 degree environment check will be performed by the proctor through primary and secondary devices.
Those taking the test will not be allowed to visit other tabs in browser or use any other system services. The complete audio/ video streams will be recorded and analyzed during post-examination.
Candidates who qualify in VITEEE 2022 can participate in the counselling process. Counselling will be done based on the rankings. The exam will be conducted in two groups – MPCEA and BPCEA. Subjects included in the MPCEA group are – Maths (40 questions), Physics (35), Chemistry (35), English (5), Aptitude (10). Subjects in the BPCEA group are Biology (40), Physics (35), Chemistry (35), English (5), and Aptitude (10).

Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after July 1, 2000 are eligible to apply for UG Engineering admission (UGEA) 2022. The date of birth as recorded in the class 12 certificate will be considered authentic, as per the official website. Candidates will have to produce this certificate in original as a proof of their age at the time of counselling or admission, failing which they will be disqualified.
What is the education qualification?
Candidates must have studied mathematics, physics and chemistry in class 12 to be eligible to apply for all the BTech programmes. Candidates having studied biology, physics, chemistry in class 12 are eligible to apply for bio stream programmes only.
