Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission has released the APPSC AVMI Recruitment 2023 or APPSC Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspectors Recruitment 2023 notification on its official website, psc.gov.in for the recruitment of AVMI posts in AP Transport Subordinate Service.
Applications are invited through online from eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector in A.P. Transport Subordinate Service for a total of 17 (15 Fresh + 2 Carry forwarded) vacancies in the scale of pay of Rs.31,460 – 84,970 (RPS 2022 : 48,440 – 1,37,220) from candidates within the age group of 21 – 36 years as on 01.07.2022.
The candidate shall apply online through Commission’s Website. The application can be submitted as per the schedule. The applicant who desires to apply for the above post shall login the Commission’s Website, with his/her registered OTPR number. In case, the candidate is applying for the first time to the posts notified by APPSC he/she shall register his/her bio-data particulars through One Time Profile Registration (OTPR) on the Commission’s Website.
Once applicant registers his/her particulars, a user ID is generated and sent to his/her registered mobile number and email ID. The selection to the post shall be on the basis of Written Examination in Computer Based Recruitment Test mode conducted by the Commission. The Dates of Written Examination will be announced separately.
The candidates are required to visit the Commission’s website regularly to keep themselves updated about dates of written examinations are to be held. The examination would be in objective type and questions are to be answered on computer system. The medium of Examination will be English only.
Eligibility Criteria for APPSC AMVI recruitment: (a) Education Qualification: Candidates must hold a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering of a University in India established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or a Provincial Act or a State Act or institution recognized by the University Grants Commission or any equivalent qualification. OR
Must hold a Diploma in Automobile Engineering issued by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh or Technological Diploma Examination Board, Hyderabad or any other equivalent qualification; and ii) Must hold a Motor Driving License and have experience in driving motor vehicles for a period of not less than 3 years and possess Heavy Transport vehicles endorsement.
Provided that where persons with 3 years experience in driving motor vehicles are not available, persons with two years experience in driving motor vehicles may be appointed. Provided further that in case of Women, they must hold a Motor Vehicle driving license, if they are holder of Light Motor Vehicle Driving License only, they shall acquire the Heavy Transport Vehicle Endorsement within two years of their joining the service as Assistant Motor Vehicles Inspector, failing which their services will be terminated without assigning any reasons.
As per clarification received vide Lr R.No:4211/C3/2016, dt:09/09/2022 from the Transport Department. As per section 02 at Sl.No:28 of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 a motor vehicle is defined a “Motor vehicle “ or “Vehicle” means any mechanically propelled vehicle adapted for use upon roads whether the power of propulsion is transmitted there to from an external and internal source and includes a chassis to which a body has not been attached and a trailer; but does not include a vehicle running upon fixed rails or a vehicle of a special type adopted for use only in a factory or in any other enclosed premises or a vehicle having less than four wheels fitted with engine capacity of not exceeding 25 cubic centimeters.
(b) Age limit: The lower age limit for these vacancies is 21 years and upper age limit is 34 years as on July 1, 2022. Note: Applicants are advised to go through the official notification for detailed eligibility criteria and relaxation on the upper age limit.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (a) For Men (SC/ST and Aboriginal Tribes): The minimum height must not be less than 160 Cms. and must not less than 83.80 Cms. round the chest on full inspiration with a minimum expansion of 5.00 Cms.
ii) For Women: The height shall not be less than 157.5 Cms. and must not be less than 82.30 Cms. round the chest on full inspiration with a minimum of expansion 5.00 Cms.
a) For Women (SC/ST and Aboriginal Tribes):- The minimum height must not be less than 152.5 Cms. and must not less than 79.80 Cms. round the chest on full inspiration with a minimum expansion of 5.00 Cms.
iii) Under A.P.T.S.S. Rules, Must be certified to possess the visual standards specified below without glasses:
a) Right Eye: Distance Vision 6/6 Near Vision:0.5 (on Shellen’s Chart)
b) Left Eye: Distance Vision 6/6 Near Vision:0.5 (on Shellen’s Chart)
c) Each eye must have a full field of vision.
d) Colour Blindness, Squint or any morbid conditions of the eyes or lids of either eye shall be deemed to be a disqualification.
iv) Candidates with knock knees, pigeon chest, flat foot varicose veins, hammertoes, fractured limbs, decayed teeth shall be deemed to be disqualified.
Application Process for APPSC AMVI recruitment: Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed by the commission will have to first fill the OTPR application (if not done already) to generate OTPR id. After receiving OTPR id, candidates can apply for the Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspectors recruitment by logging again.
Application Fee and Exam Fee for APPSC AMVI recruitment: Candidates would need to pay and application fee of Rs.250 toward application processing fee and Rs.80 toward examination fee. Candidates falling in SC/ST/BC/Ex-servicemen/Families having Household Supply White Card/Un-employed youth as per G.O.Ms.No.439, G.A (Ser- A) Department categories are exempted from paying Rs.80 examination fee.
