Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2025 Term 1 will begin on November 17.

In 2021, CBSE conducted the board examinations in two parts—Term 1 and Term 2. The Term 1 examination was in MCQ format and based on a 50% syllabus. In view of prevailing conditions, the Syllabus for Class 10 CBSE Board Exams 2025 was revised.

You can check and download the complete CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2025 Term 1 Syllabus, Sample Papers for Science, Maths, English, Social, etc., and the complete date sheet here.

CBSE Class X Examinations will be in MCQ format in Term 1. These are mandatory exams, and all students will be issued a Board Roll Number.

The same roll number would be used for Term 2 exams conducted in April – May. Internal Assessment or Practical exams would be conducted for all subjects, and total marks out of 50 would be awarded for Term 1.

The CBSE board exam for 10th next year will not be divided into two terms but just one final exam. The board has also revised the syllabus.

After holding the 10th exams on a reduced syllabus for nearly two years, CBSE will return to a 100 percent syllabus. The board will also return to a ‘rationalised’ syllabus, which it will rationalize once again with the help of experts.

The exams will be held for 80 marks, as since 2019, as many as 20 percent of marks have been awarded to internal assessments or practicals.

The practice will continue this year, too. For students’ benefit, there will be internal choices in the exam. CBSE announced in 2020 that it will offer as many as 33 percent more choices in board exams.

The CBSE board has also released the sample papers for board exam 2025 at the official website, cbseacademic.nic.in.

The Board issues Sample Question Papers (SQPs) and Marking Schemes for class X to provide a broad template to serve as a guide for ensuring uniformity and proper coverage of the curricula.

Further, SQPs give a broad understanding about the Question Paper Design and need to be used for classroom teaching and learning activities, focusing on promoting the application of concepts in real-life and holistic learning.

CBSE Class 10 Practical Exams

The CBSE Board 10th examinations will commence on February 15, 2025. The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct practical examinations for high school students beforehand.

The CBSE Class 10 Practical Exams, Project Work, and Internal Assessments will start on January 1, 2025, at CBSE-affiliated schools in India and abroad.

Passing the practical examination, along with the theory examination, is mandatory in many CBSE Class 10 subjects.
