CSIR NET Exam Date 2022 announced on csirnet.nta.nic.in. Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, National Eligibility Test or CSIR NET notification has been released by the exam conducting body. The Exam Date has been announced and as per that, it would be held on January 29, 2022. More details will be made available soon by National Testing Agency, NTA on the official website, csirnet.nta.nic.in.
Candidates must note that NTA would soon release the new details on eligibility, application dates and how to apply. Earlier, the exam was supposed to be held in July, 2021. However, it got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Usually, the exam is conducted two times in a year – June and December, separately.
CSIR NET 2022 will be held for determining the eligibility of candidates for Lectureship/ Assistant Professorship and Junior Research Fellowship in Colleges and Universities of the country. The exam is usually given by Science Major candidates.

The result for 2020 cycle was released on February 24, 2021. Following this, the new exam dates were announced but it could not be held. Keep a check here and on the official website for more updates on CSIR NET.
Most importantly, candidates should note that NTA will release all the important details related to the exam on the official website i.e., csir.nta.nic.in. The information includes exam criteria, pattern, eligibility process, application dates, and how to apply.
As per the official notification which was released earlier, the exam conducting body scheduled the exam for July 2021, but due to unfavourable circumstances and the ongoing covid-19 pandemic, it got delayed. Usually, the exam is conducted twice a year in the months of June and December respectively. Candidates who belong to a science background usually opt for this exam.
- The CSIR NET-UGC exam will be held to analyse the capabilities of candidates for various fields, like Lectureship/Assistant Professorship and Junior Research Fellowship at different colleges and universities.
- The examination will be conducted in two shifts- the first shift will be conducted from 9 am to 12 noon and the second shift will be conducted from 2 pm to 5 pm.
- The question paper will be printed in Hindi and English version.
Candidates who want to apply for the exam should have M.Sc or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/ BS-4 years/ BE/ BTech/ BPharma/ MBBS with at least 55% marks for General (UR) and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST, Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates. Candidates enrolled for M.Sc or having completed 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying examination as on the closing date of online submission of application form, are also eligible to apply. The upper age limit for JRF (NET) is below 28 years of age and there is no upper age limit for Lectureship (NET).
To pass the CSIR NET, candidates need to scores at least 55 per cent marks in the exam. The required marks are lowered to 50 per cent for candidates belonging to reserved categories.
As per rules, candidates who clear the CSIR NET to pursue research get a stipend. The stipend for junior research fellows (JRF) is Rs 31,000 per month for the first two years, it is increased when the candidate research post of senior research fellow. The CSIR NET is held for limited subjects namely – life science, chemical sciences, earth atmospheric ocean and planetary science, physical science, and mathematical sciences.
