ORDER: In the G.O. 4th read above, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has approved for payment of Rs.30,000/- as relief to the nominee / dependents / legal heirs of the deceased registered building & other construction worker in case of natural death.
In the letter 6th read above, the Commissioner of Labour, Telangana has submitted a proposal based on the resolution made in the 2nd Board meeting of the Telangana Building & Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board held on 31.03.2015, for enhancement of amount from Rs.30,000/- to Rs.60,000/- towards relief to the nominee / dependants / legal heirs of the deceased registered building & other construction worker in case of natural death w.e.f. 01.05.2015.
In the circumstances reported by the Commissioner of Labour, Telangana, Hyderabad and after careful examination of the proposal, Government hereby order to enhance the existing amount from Rs.30,000/- (Rupees thirty thousand only) to Rs.60,000/- (Rupees sixty thousand only) towards relief to the nominee / dependants / legal heirs of the deceased registered building & other construction worker in case of natural death in terms of sub Rule (L) of Rule-33 of the Andhra Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers (RE&CS) Rules, 1999 read with section 22 of the Building & Other Construction Workers (RE&CS) Act, 1996, with the following guidelines w.e.f. 01.05.2015:
(i) The Scheme is applicable to the registered building and other construction worker as a beneficiary with the Board.
(ii) An amount of Rs.60,000/- (Rupees sixty thousand) shall be paid as relief to the nominee / dependant / legal heir of the deceased worker in case of natural death of the registered building and other construction worker.
(iii) The funeral expenses if not paid before funeral rites, the same shall be paid along with the natural death relief amount.
(iv) The enhanced amount of death relief is applicable only to the deaths took place on or after 01.05.2015.
(v) Relief under this scheme is in addition to other relief / compensation that the worker may be entitled to under any other Scheme.
(vi) The nominee / dependant / legal heir of the deceased worker shall submit prescribed application form to the concerned officer along with original Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board registration card, Death Certificate and the supporting documents i.e Household ration card / Adhar Card issued by the competent authority as a proof of the nominee / dependant declared by the worker in his registration application form. In case of no nominee or dependant is claiming the amount, the legal heir of the deceased shall submit the legal heir certificate to claim the benefit amount under the scheme along with the above documents.
(vii) The Deputy Commissioner of Labour concerned shall obtain enquiry report from Assistant Labour Officers concerned and place before the District scrutiny committee for its scrutiny.
(viii) After scrutiny, if found eligible, the scheme amount of Rs.60,000/- (Rupees sixty thousand only) shall be released to the saving bank account of the nominee / dependant / legal heir. GO.11 Relief Scheme Amount Enhanced
- The Commissioner of Labour, Telangana, Hyderabad and the Secretary & Chief Executive Officer, Telangana Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Hyderabad shall take necessary action accordingly.
