Enhancement of age of superannuation to 60 years: The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly unanimously passed on 23rd June 2014 a Bill amending the AP Public Employment( Regulation of Age of Superannuation) Act, 1984, enhancing retirement age of government employee to 60 years from 58.
There was significant improvement in the average life expectancy as compared to 1984. As per the World Health Organisation, the global average life expectancy in the year 2009 was 68 while it was 65 years in India.
Consequent to the reorganisation of Andhra Pradesh, the new state government felt it necessary to utilize the service of senior employee in view of their experience and expertise. Accordingly, the government has decided to enhance the retirement age to 60 year.Government of Andhra Pradesh has issued GO.Ms.No.63 on 27th June, 2014.In this oreder the government has enhanced the retirement age to 60 years
In this connection Andhra Pradesh Public employment regulation of age of superannuation amendment Act No.4 of 2014 publication in Andhra Pradesh Gazzette – Govt. Order Ms. No.63 has been released. Enhancement of age of superannuation to 60 years
Good news to AP Govt. Employees, their retirement age has been enhanced to 60 years. Already the central government raised the retirement age of its employees from 58 to 60 years in 1998. Now AP Govt has taken this decision. It will be helpful for more than 1 lakh employees.
As per AP Gazette Act 4 June 27, 2014 Retire Extension Benfits 58 yers to 60 years fo all ZP, Muncipal and Aided employees als w.e.f from June 2nd
