CAT 2023: Attention candidates, the online registration process for IIM CAT, will close on September 15. The Indian Institutes of Management, Indore announced the dates for the Common Admission Test (CAT), and as per schedule, IIM CAT will be held on November 28. Candidates who wish to apply for CAT are requested to visit iimcat.ac.in and apply for the same.

As per the information bulletin released by IIM Indore, the CAT results are likely to be declared by the second week of January 2023. The CAT score is valid only till December 31, and will accordingly be accessible on the website. Thereafter no queries related to the issuance of CAT scorecards will be entertained.

How to apply for CAT: The CAT Chairperson from Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) Indore informed that the deadline is till September 15. The candidates must possess Bachelor’s degree with at least 50 per cent marks or equivalent. The reserve category candidates – Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) – need to hold a minimum of 45 per cent marks from the recognised university..

The CAT 2020 will be conducted on a single day (in two slots) on November 28. The CAT is the mandatory entrance exam for admission to flagship PGP 2022-23 and other programmes in 20 IIMs and other top-rated B schools like FMS, MDI, NITIE, SPJIMR, XLRI and among others.

Admission procedure:

Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) shortlist candidates for the interview stage on the basis of their own criteria, which may be independent of each other. The process may include Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI). As per IIMs, performance in the CAT examinations is an important component in the admission process.

IIMs may additionally use other factors such as the previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience, gender and academic diversity and other similar inputs in shortlisting and ranking of candidates at various stages of the admission process. Eligibility for CAT:

The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree, with at least 50 per cent marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons With Disability (PwD) categories, awarded by any university or educational institution as incorporated by an Act of the Parliament or State legislature in India or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

Selection Procedure for CAT:

The selection of candidates will be done on the basis of the Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) followed by Personal Interviews (PI) round.

CAT Exam Pattern:

The exam pattern is the same as that for CAT. Sectional timing of 60 minutes, on-screen, calculator, non-MCQs from CAT are all present this year too. The examination will be conducted across 156 cities in India (last year it was conducted across 147 cities). The number of questions – overall and in the sections – has not been specified. Payment of CAT Registration:

Please note that a candidate needs to pay the registration fee only once, irrespective of the number of institutes he/she is applying for. SC, ST and PwD candidates must upload a copy of their SC/ST/PwD certificates at the time of registration. Fees once paid cannot be refunded under any circumstances

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode is an autonomous business school located in Calicut, Kerala.
