JNAFAU MFA Entrance Exam 2023 (Master of Fine Arts Programme Admissions): Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, Hyderabad has published the Master of fine arts Programme Admission notification 2023 and application forms are invited from the eligible and interested candidates for admission into following MFA regular courses for 2022-23

MFA Courses:
1. M F A( Applied Art & Visual Communication): 25 Seats
Eligibility: B.F.A (Applied Art)/Equivalent
Duration: 2 years
Tuition Fee: Rs.57,000/- Per annum
2. M.F A (Photography & Media Communication):20 Seats
Eligibility: B.F.A (Photography)/Equivalent
Duration: 2 years
Tuition Fee: Rs.57,000/- Per annum
3. M.F.A ( Painting & Visual Communication): 15 Seats
Eligibility: B.F.A ( Painting)/Equivalent:
Duration: 2 years
Tuition Fee: Rs.57,000/- Per annum
4. M.F.A ( Sculpture): 6 Seats
Eligibility: 4 year B.F.A ( Sculpture)/Equivalent
Duration: 2 years
Tuition Fee: Rs.57,000/- Per annum

Applications are invited from the eligible candidates in the prescribed form for admission into the following 2 year Master of Fine Arts (MFA) courses offered at JNAFAU College of Fine Arts for the Academic Year 2022-23. 

Details of Entrance Examination:
1. A Written Entrance Examination will be conducted for all eligible candidates.
2. The model paper and syllabus are available in the university website.
3. The following is the pattern of Entrance Examination :
For Applied Art & Painting subjects:
a. Written / Practical Examination
i. Theory (Objective type) – 30 Marks
ii. Practical – 50 Marks
b. Interview – 20 Marks
For photography:
a. Written Examination
i. Objective type – 30 Marks
ii. Descriptive (Essay type) – 20 Marks
b. Interview – 25 Marks
c. Portfolio – 25 Marks
For Sculpture:
a. Written Examination
Objective type – 30 Marks
b. Assessment of 5 works based on Photographs
submitted along with application (only submission)
(*Prerequisite for qualifying the Entrance Exam) – 20 Marks
c. Interview – 25 Marks
d. Portfolio – 25 Marks

The minimum qualifying marks in the Written Examination will be 50% for General category, 45% for Physically Challenged and 40% for SC/ST candidates. The candidates those who qualify in the Written Examination with the above mentioned qualifying marks, only will be called for interview.

Syllabus and Model Paper
The syllabus followed in BFA courses in JNAFAU will be syllabus for MFA Entrance Examination. The model papers and syllabus are available in the university website.

The last date for submission of Application form, Demand Draft and Xerox copies of certificates is 16 Nov before 5:00 PM, the university is not responsible for any postal delay.

5% supernumerary seats of the approved intake in each course will be meant for students of other states under National Integration Scheme (NIS) category. Admissions in this quota will be applicable only to those candidates who have completely studied outside Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states and qualify in the MFA Entrance Examination – 2023.

The date and time of Written Examination will be made available on the university website www.jnafau.ac.in. Candidates are advised to go through the website regularly for latest updates.

The Hall Tickets for the Written Examination will be issued two days before the Examination date at the Office of the Co-ordinator, Admissions, JNAFAU. The center for Entrance Examination will be JNAFAU campus only.

The candidates who have studied 3 year degree in BFA (Photography) with 3 (three) year practical experience after completion of their course in Photography are eligible.

The candidates applying for MFA (Sculpture) have to submit Photographs (5”x7” size, each work maximum 2 photographs) of five works done by them attested by Head of the Department / Organization along with application form. This carries 20 marks which is a prerequisite for qualifying the written examination. The Merit list (Ranks) will be ascertained by calculating marks secured in both Part – 1 (Written Examination) & Part – 2 (Assessment of Works) for (30+20) 50 Marks. The candidates qualified in Part-1 & 2 are only eligible for Interview.

1. The course will be run only if required number of candidates (at least 50% of sanctioned intake)
are admitted/join. An entrance test may be conducted to the selected candidates if necessary.
2. Reference Letter and portfolio of works may be an advantage for the applicant during the interview.
3. The Candidates are advised to refer to the rules of admission before filling in the application.
4. The rules of reservation and eligibility for candidature shall be as per State Government rules.
5. All the entries should be in the candidates own hand -writing (in English only) and the candidate
will be held personally responsible for incorrect entry that he/she makes.
6. Any false or incorrect statement in the application detected at any stage will render the admission of the candidate null and void.
7. Application which is incomplete and which does not have relevant certificate is at any stage liable to be rejected.
8. The University reserves the right to cancel the admission of the candidate at any stage if/ when it
is detected that admission is against the rules.
9. Admission will not be granted to candidates whose conduct is reported unsatisfactory.
10. No candidate will be admitted into the post graduate degree course unless he /she passed the qualifying examination.
11. Registration fee once paid shall not be refunded, even if the application is rejected either before or
after the Aptitude Test/ Admission.

3. Provisional pass certificate of the qualifying examination and memorandum of marks.
4. Certificate of Date of Birth.
5. Caste certificate in the case of SC/ST/BC categories in the prescribed proforma.
6. Certificate in the case of special categories, viz,, Children of Armed Personnel, (CAP).NCC,
Sports (SP) & Disabled.
7. Certificate of Schooling for the entire education of the candidate (study certificate of X to Degree).
8. Conduct Certificate issued by the Head of the Institution where last studied.
9. Transfer Certificate.

How to apply:
The application form, eligibility, fee structure, and other details are available on the University website www.jnafau.ac.in. The filled-in application form, xerox copies of relevant documents/certificates along with Demand Draft for Rs.1,2001- (Rs.6001- in case of SC/ST candidates) drawn on any nationalized bank in favour of “Registrar, JNAFAU, payable at Hyderabad” should reach the office of the Co-ordinator Admissions, Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, Masab Tank, Hyderabad – 500028 on or before 16 Nov by 5:00 PM through speed post or in-person. 5% Supernumerary seats will be meant for students of other states under the National Integration Scheme (NIS) in each course. The admissions will be through Entrance Examination and Interview.
