Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has started registering for JNVST 2026 for Class 6 admission. Candidates who want to apply for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test can apply online through the official site of NVS on navodaya.gov.in.

To be eligible for the test, the candidate should have been born before May 1, 2013, and after April 30, 2017. Further, the candidate should be studying in class 5 for the academic year 2026-2027.

Further, the candidate should be studying in some government or government-aided school. The candidate can also study in any other recognized school or National Institute of Open Schooling, NIOS in the same district where the candidate is seeking admission.

To apply for the test, the candidate should have been promoted or admitted to class 5 before September 15. Candidates are advised to review the official notification before applying for the test.

Instructions: Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test, JNVST for Class 6 admissions. The steps to register given below will help candidates to apply for Class 6 admission.

For this, Students will have to visit the official website of Navodaya Vidyalaya at navodaya.gov.in or Newly created JNVST Registration web portal.

Single Stage Registration: The process of submitting the JNVST online application involves only one stage. Reservations to OBC candidates shall be implemented as per the Central List. OBC candidates not included in the Central List should apply as General Candidates.

Certificate: Before going to registration, download the certificate from the website and fill the information correctly. Students and parents should sign the signature on this. Scan the signed certificate for uploading at the time of the registration process.

After completing the scanning process of the above-mentioned documents, visit the JNVST 2022 web portal and Click on the JNV Selection Test registration form. Fill out all the required information and upload the necessary documents in the four sections of the registration form.

Check all details in the application form, then submit it and download the submitted form. Keep a hard copy of the application form for future use.

JNVST Registration Highlights

• The last date to apply for the examination is till November 30. 
• Candidates must not have been born between 01-05-2013 to 31-7-2015 (Both dates are inclusive) to apply for the exam.
• Candidate must be studying in Class 5 for the whole of the academic session 2026-2026. 
• JNVST 2026 for class 6 would be conducted in one phase in various test centres.
• JNV Selection Test for admission to Class 6 in JNVs for the academic session 2026-2026 will be held in On 18-01-2024 at 11.30 am.

How to apply for JNVST 2026?

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has enabled the JNVST Class 6 Registration Form on its official website, https://navodaya.gov.in.

Parents can visit the official website and complete the registration process of your children with the required details on or before the deadline. To apply for the examination, candidates can follow these simple steps given below.

1. Visit the navodaya.gov.in website: Visit the official site of Navodaya Vidyalaya on navodaya.gov.in.
2. Click on JNVST Link: Click on JNVST 2026 Class 6 link available on the home page.
3. Click on the Registration link. A new page will open where candidates must click on the registration link.
4. Fill in the details: The application form should include the necessary details, such as uploading a photograph, signature, and other details.
5. Pay the application fee: Candidates can pay the online application fee through net banking or a debit or credit card.
6. Click on Submit: Once done, click on Submit. Your application has been submitted.
7. Download Application Form: Download the application form and keep a hard copy for further need.

The selection test for class 6 would be of 100 marks. The total number of questions that would be asked is 80. Candidates would be asked questions about Arithmetics, Language, and Mental Ability.

Candidates must write the answers on the OMR sheet. Pencils are not allowed. Candidates should use only a black or blue ballpoint pen to mark the answers on the OMR sheet. 

NVS Admission Eligibility

Online registration for admission can be done now. Students studying Class V during the Academic Session 2026-2026 in one of the government/ government-recognized schools of the district where the JNV is functioning and where admission is sought are eligible to apply.

The selection test for admission to Class VI will be conducted on the above date in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya of the concerned district or any other centre allotted by NVS.

Basis of admission For class 6 admission, students will be enrolled based on their performance in the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2026. Candidates can submit their application forms online through the official website of JNV, navodaya.gov.in.

Students have to enter login credentials, including username/registration, password, and captcha code. Submit the personal details and upload the scanned copy of the documents and submit. Candidates can check the official site of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti to know more about the admission process.

The JNV Selection Test 2026 for class sixth admission would be conducted on April 6, 2026, at various Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas across India. 

The Navodaya Admit Cards for the Class VI entrance test will be available on the official website from 01-04-2026 onwards until the exam date.

The results of the JNV Selection Test 2026 is expected to be announced by the last week of May 2026.  The exam score will be valid for all the 649 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya nationwide.

JNVST Registration process:

The application process includes two stages. Stage one requires online registration followed by submission of personal details.

Personal details include uploading images. Scanned copy of the signature of the ward and parents along with an image of the candidate and relevant certificates.
